Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Ghilotti.
Hi michelle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Yes I can! Briefly I’d say that I started my career in advertising working on brands, such as got milk and Porsche and brands like Nike. After just shy of nine years, I was making the move from San Francisco to LA with my husband after getting married and I thought well I’m having to leave the Agency, why not start my business? So I did and it’s not been 25 years. In those 25 years LA has been my home multiple times, however, I’ve also lived in Amsterdam and guadalajara Mexico and now Paris. It’s been a beautiful whirlwind growing and continuing to be an international business person with her roots in Los Angeles and this is where my business started in 2001!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Struggles along the way are probably similar to every entrepreneur, especially at the beginning and that is the up-and-down of revenue and income. But I also have some thing that a lot of business owners don’t talk about and that is that on the personal side of things I have experienced a lot of tragedies in my nuclear family and so that has been a challenge. I would not call it an obstacle or a struggle necessarily, because it actually made me a better business person, more in tune to who I am, what I really wanna do and how the best support people. It’s given me a deeper understanding of honesty and of sincerity and of Customer Service and how to really see the human being behind the client or behind a sale. Though I have understood what deep Grief is, I would not change. What I have gone through because it has made me, I feel, a better human being, and in that, a much more human, creative, and honest business owner seldomly deeply phased by the small or the medium blips in business.
We’ve been impressed with Michelle Ghilotti Intl, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am known for helping women make happiness their business by creating their authentic brand. I am known for helping women create authentic brands! And what sets me apart is that I use a combination of spiritual coaching, and a depth of understanding human psychology, and even more recently adding a background in Eco psychology, and death doula work to get at the core of what makes someone tick; pulling out the gems of a woman’s true identity and a true value of why she is building her life‘s work into language that others can understand.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Don’t isolate yourself. As quickly as you can, and you don’t have to pay thousands of dollars for this, but find a friend, two friends, a few friends who are also business owners and talk and talk and talk about what you are creating, what your fears are, what your excitements are Etc because creating a business and growing business can be very lonely and we can get deeper and deeper into our monkey minds if we don’t have outlets with people who truly understand. I have found myself to be 1000 times more creative and 1000 times more decisive when I have been around people who I trust who I can share my business journey with.
