Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Jackson.
Hi DJ, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My career really started at a time when both my world and the world around me were forced to pause. I tragically lost my parents after graduating from UCI, and shortly after, COVID happened and the entire world seemed to pause with me.
During that time, I decided to focus on doing things that made me happy and rediscover myself. One of those things was fulfilling a childhood dream of having a matte black car with red accents. I had no experience wrapping cars, so I turned to YouTube and taught myself how to do it.
It definitely wasn’t the most professional job, but it was mine—and it looked good enough that people started seeing my car and asking me to do things for them. From there, the ball started rolling.
Over time, I realized changing the color of a car was only the tip of the iceberg, and there really wasn’t a ceiling on what I could do with this skill. Through years of consistency, learning, quality work, customer service, and networking, I’ve gone from playing around with my own car in a friend’s garage to wrapping World Cup stadiums.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth. On a personal level, I was still dealing with grief while also stepping into more of a father-figure role for my younger siblings, so there was a lot happening emotionally while I was trying to build something for myself.
For years, I also didn’t have a clear vision of what I wanted the business to become—or even if I wanted to pursue it completely. I was doing other things at the same time, trying to figure out what my “main thing” would be. I didn’t necessarily see that as a struggle then, but looking back, I realize that uncertainty was an internal struggle that affected my growth.
On the business side, one of the biggest challenges was building consistent clientele. Finding one-off customers would happen, but building a client base that could provide multiple projects throughout the year took time. Honestly, that consistency is something I’ve only started to really establish more recently in my career.
We’ve been impressed with Wrap26, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
WRAP26 is a graphic installation company specializing in bringing brands and spaces to life through large-format graphics and vinyl. Our work ranges from events and brand activations to storefronts, commercial spaces, stadiums, fleets, and other custom installations.
What makes us different from other companies comes directly from client feedback; they say how easy I am to work with, and that’s something I take a lot of pride in. I believe great work is just as much about the experience as it is the final product, so I make communication direct and accessible throughout the entire project. Combined with professional, high-quality work and a problem-solving mentality, I’m able to adapt to whatever challenges a project presents and make the process as seamless as possible for the client.
Ultimately, I want WRAP26 to be known as the company you call when you need something installed and you need it done right. Whether we’re transforming a space for an event, executing a brand activation, installing commercial graphics, or taking on something completely custom, the goal is always the same: make the process easy for the client and deliver work we’re proud to put our name on.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was definitely the kid who hated structure and routine. I was highly capable and did well in school, but I would constantly get in trouble for finishing my work and then refusing to sit still, talking, or distracting everyone else while they were still working. The ease at which I could become bored was honestly ridiculous.
Looking back, it makes a lot of sense that I ended up doing what I do today. I love being able to move from project to project, work in different environments, and constantly solve new problems without life ever feeling too monotonous.
I was also always drawn to things that were different. I didn’t have much growing up, but whenever there was something I wanted, it was usually something that stood out rather than something everyone else had. I think that carried into my career too. A big part of what I love about my work is taking something ordinary and completely transforming it into something different for each company or brand I work with.
