Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Hill.
Hi Claudia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The story began with my own wedding. Planning it was one of the most interesting projects I’d ever taken on — but a lot friends who were married described the process as extremely stressful. That disconnect stuck with me. I realized I genuinely loved doing something that most people found overwhelming, and that gap between “this is fun for me” and “this is a headache for everyone else” is exactly where a business thrives.
So I started CHill Celebrations to bring that same calm and joyful energy to other people’s weddings. And honestly? I wanted an excuse to plan more weddings but keep the same husband!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business is never a completely smooth road, and CHill Celebrations was no exception. But when your business is planning and problem-solving, there’s no struggle that can’t be solved. That mindset carried me over the bumps in the road.
I was also fortunate to have incredible support early on. I hired a fantastic wedding coordinator for my own wedding, and she became my mentor. I reached out to Jenifer wanting to learn the business, and she was endlessly generous in teaching me the ropes. Many veterans in the industry welcomed me in from there, and their support meant everything to me.
I’m forever grateful to Andrew and Bianca, the first clients who took a chance booking a brand new business for their big day. And to Angie, the venue manager at that first wedding, who asked me to become a preferred vendor after just one event at her venue — a vote of confidence that gave me so much momentum.
Now I get to pay that forward, mentoring new planners just starting out. And I recently had the fullest of full-circle moments: one of my own brides reached out to tell me she wants to get into the wedding business herself. That made me so incredibly happy!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
CHill Celebrations is a wedding planning and coordination company based in Orange County, California, offering partial planning and day-of coordination services, plus candle and signage rentals for couples who want to elevate their decor without juggling another vendor. We work with couples throughout on weddings of every size, from intimate elopements to multi-day receptions.
What clients consistently tell us, is that they didn’t have to worry about a thing and just had fun on their wedding day. Our job is to make sure the couple’s vision — and every detail behind it — comes together seamlessly on the one day it actually matters. Vendor management, custom timelines, budget guidance, and being the single point of contact so our couples (and their families) aren’t fielding a hundred questions on their wedding day — that’s the heart of what we do.
CHill Celebrations’ brand is collaborative, organized, and thoughtful wedding execution. We are most proud of the trust our clients place in us, and the professional and personal relationships that are built out of each event.
Any big plans?
The wedding industry is evolving, and staying relevant means growing with it. Looking ahead, my focus is on building out my team with people who are genuinely passionate about this industry — not just filling roles, but bringing in planners and assistants who care as much about the couples they work with as I do.
Part of that growth means embracing something I’ve come to see as a real measure of success: watching people I’ve trained go on to build their own businesses. A good mentor knows that’s the goal all along, you’re trying to help them grow into exactly where they’re meant to be. Seeing that happen feels like the whole point.
