We recently had the chance to connect with Henry Lipatov and have shared our conversation below.
Henry, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: When was the last time you felt true joy?
The last time I felt true joy was on set, watching a small crew bring a scene from “TIMER” to life. Seeing everyone’s passion turn an idea from my head into a real world moment—that’s pure joy to me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Henry Lipatov — a film director, visual effects artist, and founder of Beverly Films, a creative studio that blends cinematic storytelling with cutting-edge technology and AI. Over the years I’ve directed and supervised Visual Effects more than 160 music videos for global artists like Jennifer Lopez, Linkin Park, Eminem, and Demi Lovato, and now my focus is on building stories that connect emotion, innovation, and humanity.
What makes Beverly Films unique is our fusion of art and technology — we approach filmmaking like designing dreams. Whether it’s a feature film, a music video, or an AI-driven project, the goal is always the same: to inspire, awaken emotion, and make people see the world differently. Right now, we’re working on several films, including Timer, and expanding Beverly Films Academy — an educational platform teaching creators how to use AI in filmmaking. It’s all about helping people turn imagination into impact.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks the bonds between people is ego — the moment we stop listening and start defending. What restores them is humility and empathy. In filmmaking, as in life, when we drop our need to be right and focus on creating something together, the magic returns.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that creation is born from chaos. You can’t fake depth — you have to live through something to express something real. Success gives you confidence; pain gives you soul.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is the real me, but not the entire me. We’re all like multifaceted lenses — the world sees one angle, but there’s always more light behind it.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If immortality were real, what would you build?
I’d build an endless school — a place where people could learn, unlearn, and rediscover themselves forever. Immortality should be about evolution, not just survival.
