Today we’d like to introduce you to Marisa Ritts.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After 15+ years working in public relations and branding, both in-house and at leading boutique agencies, I decided to take that experience and build something of my own. I launched Marisa Ritts PR, where I now work directly with brands and clients to develop and execute strategic PR campaigns, secure meaningful media exposure and build lasting brand awareness. Working independently has allowed me to bring together everything I’ve learned throughout my career—from media relations and brand strategy to events, launches and partnerships—while building my own roster of clients and creating a business that is truly my own.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest adjustments in starting Marisa Ritts PR was going from the structure of an agency or in-house position to being responsible for every aspect of my own business—from bringing in new clients and developing relationships to managing the work and continuing to grow the company.

There are naturally ups and downs when you work for yourself, particularly when it comes to the unpredictability of new business and learning to be patient as opportunities develop. But it has also pushed me to trust my experience, my relationships and the reputation I’ve built throughout my career. I’ve learned that sometimes the opportunities that take a little longer to come together end up being the ones that are the best fit.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Marisa Ritts PR (MR PR) ?
Marisa Ritts PR is my independent public relations and brand consulting business, specializing in lifestyle, wellness, beauty, fashion and luxury brands. I work directly with clients to develop personalized PR strategies, generate meaningful media coverage, build brand awareness and identify opportunities that help move their businesses forward.

What sets me apart is the personal, hands-on approach I bring to every client. When a brand hires me, they are working directly with me—from developing the strategy and finding the right story to pitching media, coordinating press opportunities, making introductions and creating partnerships.

I’m particularly known for media relations and the relationships I’ve built with editors, producers, influencers and industry contacts throughout my career. My background also includes brand and product launches, events, store openings, celebrity and VIP relations, influencer partnerships and strategic collaborations.

What I’m most proud of is taking the experience and relationships I’ve built throughout my career and turning them into a business of my own. Marisa Ritts PR has grown organically through relationships, referrals and clients who trust me with their brands. I want people to know that I bring years of PR experience and established industry relationships to every project, while still offering the personal attention and direct access that comes from working with me one-on-one.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve been fortunate to work with so many talented people throughout my career, and I really believe every experience has contributed to where I am today. From the bosses and colleagues who gave me opportunities and trusted me early on, to the clients, major brands, celebrities and industry professionals I’ve had the opportunity to work with, I’ve learned something from all of them.

Working in PR also means you never quite know what a day is going to bring, and over the years I’ve handled everything from major launches and events to media opportunities, celebrity relations and the unexpected challenges that inevitably happen behind the scenes. Those experiences taught me how to think quickly, problem-solve, build strong relationships and remain calm under pressure.

I’m grateful for all of the people who have supported and believed in me along the way. Collectively, those relationships and experiences gave me the confidence and foundation to eventually step out on my own and build Marisa Ritts PR. At this point in my career, I feel like I’ve experienced enough different situations to know that whatever comes my way, I’ll figure out how to handle it.
