Exploring Life & Business with Brielle Jones of A Vibe Candle Co

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brielle Jones.

Hi Brielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
A Vibe Candle Co was started during 2020, smack dab in the middle of the pandemic & that has been the biggest blessing. The year 2020 will definitely go down in the history books but it was a huge year for me personally as well because I graduated at CSUDH that summer! I majored in business management and minored in theatre so when the pandemic hit, it seemed like the perfect lull in time to develop a business and that’s where candles came in. I have always loved candles and more than ever in the pandemic, I wanted to be able to create something that could bring others comfort and peace in such a turbulent time and I fell in love with candle making. I fell in love with the process of making candles that create a perfect vibe.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road but a rewarding one. Being a candle-maker, you are responsible for so many things. Not only perfecting the candle formula with the wax and the fragrance but also designing labels, picking containers and lids, pricing, marketing, etc. Most of the challenges many small business owners face like wearing so many different hats and doing it all by yourself are the exact challenges I faced. Having to be creative and marketing my product efficiency have been some of the biggest obstacles. Networking with other small business owners and planning ahead have been things that have helped me overcome some of these challenges.

We’ve been impressed with A Vibe Candle Co, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets A Vibe Candle Co apart from others are the vibes our candles create. Our Signature Collection includes 18 signature scents including four custom-blended scents and a lot of our scents are not commonly found. Each candle in our signature collection is uniquely named which just adds to the vibe of the candle. Our labeling, quality, and customer service is what sets us apart from the competition.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My friends and family have definitely been a huge support and just the community overall. There has definitely been a shift in consciousness this year and a lot more people are encouraging others to shop small businesses and shop black/minority-owned so it has just been amazing to have the support of the community with my candle business as well.
