Ethan Mole of Venice, CA on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Ethan Mole shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Ethan, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Who are you learning from right now?
I know some people might think this is cheesy, but recently I went down a pretty deep dive into the teachings of Jesus and Christianity. I was really captivated by the show The Chosen that’s streaming on Amazon and it’s really taught me a lot of valuable lessons that I can implement into my own life for the better. I would highly recommend that show to everyone, no matter your background.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an actor and drummer originally from Chicago, now living in Los Angeles. I’ve been in Los Angeles for 7 years now and have been booking lots of commercials and also drumming in multiple bands around the city. I’ve always been gravitated towards the arts, and I’m so thankful to have been able to make that dream a reality.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I was in high school, I went on a few mission trips with my church group to Appalachia. While we were there we would help rebuild homes for people in need, and it completely changed my perspective on the world. It made me realize how important it is to be grateful for what you have, because no matter what you’re going through, it could always be a lot worse. Those trips were a very humbling experience for me and I’m so thankful I was able to do them.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would say “Dude, keep being you, and remember to not be so hard on yourself.”

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I definitely admire my Dad’s character. He’s unbelievably calm, and is always doing the right thing. Those two characteristics to me are incredibly important, especially in today’s world.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
There are two places I feel the most at peace, and they are polar opposites. One is whenever I’m at the beach. Something about the water is so calming. The other is when I’m playing the drums to my favorite songs with my headphones on.
