Hi Julieta, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the recruitment industry began with a Degree in Psychology, which provided a strong foundation for understanding human behavior and motivation. My first professional experience was with J.P. Morgan in Argentina, where I joined the recruiting team, initially as a recruiting coordinator and then as a recruiter. This role ignited my passion for talent acquisition as I learned the intricacies of market dynamics and honed my skills in identifying exceptional talent.

After three transformative years at J.P. Morgan, I moved to Mercado Libre, the largest e-commerce platform in Latin America. It was here that I further developed my skills in recruitment and gained invaluable insights into the tech industry, working with high-profile clients and innovative tech landscapes.

The real turning point in my career came when Sam and Jordan introduced me to the fledgling concept of Ryz Labs. At the time, the company was just an ambitious idea, and I was thrilled to join as the first employee. Together, we embarked on the journey of building Ryz Labs from the ground up, with a mission to connect elite tech talent from Latin America, particularly Argentina, and Uruguay, with forward-thinking companies in the U.S. Our unique focus on time zone alignment and cultural fit has been central to our success.

Since launching in 2021 and expanding our Human Capital business in 2022, we’ve grown remarkably – scaling to 120 employees and establishing a prestigious client portfolio. Beyond numbers, what sets us apart is our dedication to personalized, adaptive service, embracing technology to innovate and enhance our offerings continuously.

Today, leading the charge as Head of Recruiting at Ryz Labs, I take immense pride in the impactful bridge we’ve built between Latin American tech talent and U.S. companies. Witnessing the mutual success of our clients and talent is a continual source of motivation and fulfillment in my career.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey with Ryz Labs has definitely faced its share of challenges. Starting from scratch, we dealt with the complexities of establishing effective recruitment processes while staying ahead of technological shifts, particularly the rise of AI. This included addressing the challenge of identifying “fake” profiles to ensure authenticity.

Competing in a crowded tech recruitment market also required us to differentiate ourselves by emphasizing our unique offerings, such as culturally-aligned talent from Latin America and the advantage of time zone alignment for U.S. clients.

Internally, scaling the team while maintaining high morale and alignment with our core mission was another hurdle. However, these challenges have been instrumental in shaping our innovation and resilience, ultimately strengthening both Ryz Labs and my growth as a leader.

At Ryz Labs, my work revolves around leading our recruiting efforts to connect elite tech talent from Latin America with innovative companies in the U.S. We specialize in sourcing deeply vetted, culturally-aligned candidates primarily from Argentina and Uruguay, leveraging the advantageous time zone alignment for seamless collaboration.

Our organization is known for its personalized and adaptable approach. We take the time to truly understand our clients’ needs and meticulously handpick candidates who not only possess the required technical skills but also fit well within the company’s culture.

One of my proudest achievements is witnessing Ryz Labs grow from its inception to a thriving company with 120 employees and an impressive client portfolio. This growth is a testament to our dedication to quality and exceptional service.

What sets us apart is our commitment to a thorough vetting process, blending technological tools with human intuition to ensure authenticity and excellence. Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always an outgoing individual with many groups of friends, which helped me develop strong social skills and the ability to connect with a diverse range of people. Being born into a big family with four siblings in Argentina, I learned the importance of family and friendship early on. This close-knit environment fostered my belief in teamwork and collaboration, qualities that have been invaluable in my role as the head of recruiting.

Playing field hockey was a significant part of my childhood, and it taught me how to be a team player. The sport not only enhanced my sociability but also instilled in me a strong sense of cooperation and resilience—traits that are essential in the dynamic and fast-paced field of technology staffing.

Curiosity has always been one of my driving forces, compelling me to explore new opportunities and stay updated with the latest technological advancements. Growing up in Argentina, where resilience is a part of the cultural fabric, I learned to embrace challenges and adapt to change, which aids me tremendously in navigating the ever-evolving tech landscape.

Overall, my upbringing has shaped me into a well-rounded individual who values relationships, thrives in team settings, and approaches the tech industry with curiosity and resilience—qualities I endeavor to bring into my role every day at the staffing agency.
