Daily Inspiration: Meet Hugo Jr Aguilar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hugo Jr Aguilar.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well photography to me is what I’m invested in. I have projects that I do on my personal time and I also invest my time, you know, when it comes to work. I don’t charge a high price but I do think that my photos are very valuable. The start of my career really I said it in “Questions with Hugo” when I, you know, I basically got chosen to take photos at my church so the media team was where I really got my start and i’ve had a lot of people believe in me along the way and though the story doesn’t end with me riding off into the sunset, I believe God doesn’t want me to regurgitate the pain i’ve already swallowed and digested, metaphorically. I do get hired for my skills like I said but I don’t charge a high price but I still think I bring a lot of value to the people that hire me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, I could say for a couple of reasons because… I take this pause just to think about really why. Theres days where i’m out shooting and people all of a sudden want to talk to me and i’m doing my work and i’m making a time-lapse thats very uhm… I just find it so funny how you know people want to do things too me to throw me off track when i’m, i’m really dialing it in and i’m always like an underdog in a way. You know like the people that are in power are going to put the people that they want you know to lead and i’m always, you know, rooting for the guy, myself or thats how I like to think about it. So when it comes to, you know, it being a smooth road thats how I think about it you know like it’s my fault. I do control my responses but you know what I went through in these past years and I just want to say that i’m doing my best and I hope I motivate the people that I motivate. So looking at it as a picture overall I try too give myself the most credit keep it grand and stay quiet as i am, you know, i’m not really a loud person so.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I balance life with healthy habits and I try to turn life into art. Life t me is being just living like eating, running, talking, working. The process or the journey you could say. I am a photographer I can recall me doing a wedding once where I stood on my feet for 5-6 hours and it was a accomplishment. I took it as that and felt I could do things like that more often if I kept my health up and going into what i’m known for I guess my instagram. I got a popular page but lowkey. Lowkey because the followers that see my stuff don’t always like my posts and i’m working on that. Posting things people like or would think are cool. Most proud of my “Questions with Hugo” video and sets me apart, my camera work.
