Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Gutierrez.

Hi Victoria, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started as a makeup artist. I went to school doing special effects makeup, graduated and then tried looking for makeup jobs. In that process I bought a camera to show my work, and I started to like taking photos more than doing makeup. And that’s when I made the switch. Starting doing music shows, and events, then product photos, to portraits, now I have an LLC specializing in individual & team business branding portraits and event media coverage. I have a team for photo, video, makeup, hair, nails, and recently event sitter.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely been a roller coaster. I went through a lot of trail and error, redirection, good months, bad months. But I’ve learned so much through it all. I’ve enjoyed the journey, and appreciate the progress I’ve made over the years.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do team branding portraits, and event coverage. Although, I’m best known for my old school portraits, studio portraits, and event photography like Quinceañeras and concerts. My LLC is specific to business branding & event coverage.
I’m proud of everything. I’ve improved my skills so much over the years that now I’m comfortable in any environment. Studio, product, outdoor, events I got it. What sets me apart from others is my design consultations & mood boards. I make sure every client comes in prepared and confident.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think the biggest shift is AI, I’m not a huge fan of AI because it takes away from artist who are putting in the work and creating from their own mind. But at the same time I don’t think it’s going anywhere, and I will have to adapt to use it to my advantage.
