Today we’d like to introduce you to Timeless Anna.
Hi Timeless Anna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey began in 2009 in the Czech Republic, where I opened my first studio as a freelance photographer and post-production artist. From the start, I wasn’t interested in just capturing what was in front of the lens but I wanted to build what didn’t exist yet. I specialized in fashion photography and visual art for music bands, using techniques like matte painting and 3D compositing to take subjects out of the studio and drop them into entirely new, digitally sculpted environments.
A pivotal shift occurred during my time at RWS Moravia. There, I transitioned from the freelance world into managing complex graphic projects and localizing digital assets for global industry leaders. That experience is actually where my fascination with motion-created art began. In 2016, moving to California allowed me to fully realize that interest. I dove deep into the world of video editing, special effects, and sound design. Today, I use After Effects and green-screen technology to breathe life into cyberpunk and futuristic themed videos. Parallel to this, I run a wedding photography business with my husband. It’s the perfect counterweight – while my personal art is about creating new worlds, our wedding work is about capturing the authentic and timeless beauty of this one.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been rewarding, but certainly not linear. The biggest challenge for any creative is the Hobby Paradox. Once your passion becomes your profession, finding the mental space to create just for the joy of it can be difficult. You have to be very intentional about protecting that spark so it doesn’t get buried under deadlines.
On the practical side, the freelance life is a masterclass in financial discipline. Learning to navigate the feast or famine cycles of a creative career was a steep learning curve. I’ve learned that budgeting for the quiet months is just as important as the creative work itself.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a digital architect of sorts. My expertise lies in the invisible magic – Photoshop and After Effects, advanced masking, and seamless compositing. I sculpt scenes with vibrant colors, light and shadows to create a sense of physical weight in a digital space.
I’m most proud of my resilience. I made the choice to quit medical school to pursue art, and since then, I’ve essentially built my career from the ground up twice – once in the Czech Republic and again in California. Starting over in a new country requires a level of grit that has become the primary fuel for my creativity.
My aesthetic is definitely maximalist. I lean into vibrant, colorful, and lush scenes that explore the intersection of futurism and mysticism. I love to build worlds that feel like a fever dream where advanced technology and the “Old World” atmosphere of my roots coexist.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The “always on” energy here is infectious. There is a palpable atmosphere of ambition and creativity. The only downside? The traffic. It’s the one thing that moves significantly slower than my creative process haha! 🙂
