Conversations with Natalie Panchyshyn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Panchyshyn.

Hi Natalie , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been singing. It’s only in recent years that I began writing my own songs. Born & raised in Montreal Quebec I moved to Toronto after my dad died. When writing songs I do tend to write about my dad & that painful loss without even being aware of it. Only when the song is finished I realize that it is about him.. I’m very close to my sister & try to write a great sing about her but I never know what will come out until after it’s done. It’s very magical, the whole songwriting process.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth ride but thankfully I’ve got wonderful people in my life who are there no matter what. It’s really important to cling onto the people who are there through thick & thin

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My mother is Irish & my father was 1st generation Canadian Ukrainian so I’ve been exposed to soo much music & I love it all. I think my soul sets me apart, but then again everyone is unique because we’re all individuals with our own story to tell

Any big plans?
I’m living in the moment because now I realize how precious it is to appreciate the simple things. When I was in my 20s I was always thinking of the future & never appreciating the here & now then my dad died & it changed my outlook on life. Now I take time to appreciate how far I’ve come & my time spent with loved ones
