Conversations with Naama Cameron

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naama Cameron.

Hi Naama, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always had a passion for working with children. I have over 30 years experience in working with children in a variety of capacities. I worked as a Camp Director, Teacher, Behaviorist, School Psychologist and in 2012, I decided to open my own practice in 2012 as a Parent Coach and Behavior Specialist. I absolutely love what I do and truly find my work incredibly gratifying. I help families with all behavior challenges and give parents tool to effectively parent and set their children for long term success.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a learning curve forsure. I have had support parents coming with various parenting styles, backgrounds and past trauma. A lot of my work ends up helping parents deal with their childhood “traumas”. Much of the work is a journey for the parents and children. I am really dedicated to my work and watching children progress and develop confidence but it can be challenging when I don’t have the parents on board!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love what I do and it is evident with the families I work with. My approach is hand holding and offers as much support as parents need. I always tell my parents, I am
as invested as you are! Because of my many years working with children in a variety of capacities as well as my knowledge, I feel
very confident in my abilities to help families. I love a good challenge! I do have a special niche- I am known as the Poop Whisperer. I never imagined this would be my area of
expertise but it is. I help children who have potty problems (withholders, or refusal to use the toilet…basically any potty challenges).

What are your plans for the future?
My hope is to offer online classes and write a book.
