Conversations with Amber Coyle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Coyle.

Amber Coyle

Hi Amber, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Who am I? I’m a small-town gal from outside Houston, Texas, raised in the golden age of sitcoms, glued to the tube. I was the first of four daughters to graduate college in Miami. Picture this: the love child of Cameron Diaz’s charm and Betty White’s sass, with a sprinkle of awkwardness and a dash of dad jokes. My dream? I packed my bags and headed to Hollywood to be an actress, where I quickly learned that auditions are like playing the lottery – except with more rejection and less cash prize. I’ve had my fair share of wild Hollywood shenanigans and learned some tough lessons along the way, but hey, it’s all part of the journey, right? Those experiences have toughened me up like a stale tortilla chip – crunchy, lightly salted, and ready to take on whatever Tinseltown throws my way! These experiences have shaped me into the resilient, self-reliant, fearless woman that stands here today. Armed with a killer sense of humor, I’m just trying to navigate this crazy world and squeeze every drop of joy out of life.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Struggles? Please! The struggle is real, but without them, one risks stagnation and complacency, leading to a lackluster existence. To be quite frank, this town can feel like a big freak show, as opposed to the facade it portrays. Navigating the intricacies of the entertainment industry, particularly its less glamorous business aspects, can be a daunting task. The allure of Hollywood often masks the reality of dealing with a motley crew of individuals – from eccentric personalities to entitled trust fund beneficiaries and self-aggrandizing amateurs masquerading as “filmmakers.” On the other hand, amidst the chaos, I’ve discovered my little circle of kindred spirits and genuine connections that have enriched my journey. My experiences, both challenging and rewarding, have inspired me to share my tales through my upcoming podcast. Stay tuned for “Blondes Droppin’ Bombs,” a collaboration with my partner in crime, Kiersten Hall, where we delve into the colorful tapestry of our Hollywood escapades and more.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have cultivated my passion for acting into a successful career, with notable highlights including a memorable role in the final episode of Black Jesus (on Adult Swim), a prominent voice-over campaign for Experian, and a hilarious role in the controversial comedy, Lady Ballers (streaming only on DailyWire+)!  I’d like to think that I’m known for my big heart, wit, and unexpected multi-faceted personality. I may not fit the typical cookie-cutter blonde stereotype, but that’s what makes me stand out in a sea of Hollywood clones. I’m proud of the career I’ve built with all the hardships it entails. Breaking the mold, staying true to myself, and embracing my uniqueness – that’s my jam, and I’m rocking it like a boss!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the COVID-19 crisis?
This is definitely not a time I like to reflect on. Everything was fear-based and politicized. This was a very alienating, dividing and trying time for everyone. I barely worked, and when I did, everything attached to the word definitely took the joy out of the job. Amidst the insanity, my true friendships shone brighter than the taillights on the 405 during rush hour. The fair-weather friends? Well, they vanished quicker than Bruce Jenner turned into Caitlin Jenner. And let’s not forget about cancel culture – it was everywhere, like a bad Taylor Swift song on repeat. Personally, I’m all about second chances and forgiveness. I mean, what kind of world would this be without a little grace, understanding, and forgiveness? Reflecting on that was like living in a reality show where a demon was the main character, and truly living was a distant cousin. I’m just grateful and happy that we have moved past it, and I look forward to happier and healthier times ahead. Life’s too short not to enjoy the ride, so let’s keep the jokes coming and the good times rolling…Make Comedy Great Again!
