Community Highlights: Meet Lisiane Birks-Hay of Bombom Experience

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisiane Birks-Hay.

Hi Lisiane, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began with Bombom do Brasil, where I designed activewear that celebrated the Brazilian spirit—vibrant, high-quality, and empowering. I loved seeing women feel confident in their own skin. However, as a mother, I found myself increasingly caught in the relentless cycle of school runs, work deadlines, and the endless “to-do” lists that dominate a modern mom’s life. I was pouring everything I had into everyone else’s cup, and my own was bone-dry. I realized I was selling movement, but I was becoming stationary. I made the conscious choice to step down from the retail helm to create the Bombom Experience—a one-day retreat designed for mothers who, like me, desperately needed a space to pause, nourish their souls, and remember who they are outside of their roles as caregivers. We are now in our fourth edition, and it has been a profound awakening.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest struggle was the internal battle between the “hustle” mindset and the “healing” mindset. Leaving a successful retail business I built from the ground up felt like letting go of my armor. There was a lot of fear in the transition—worries about identity, financial stability, and whether people would understand why I was shifting from selling leggings to selling silence and connection. Balancing the logistical demands of a business with the emotional labor of holding space for other women is a constant dance. It requires me to be vulnerable, which is much more challenging than managing inventory.

* Our Flow: We start our days with fun, physical activities to wake up the body, and we close with deep, restful moments like breathwork and sound healing to quiet the mind and nourish the soul.
* What sets us apart: Our community is our core. We have cultivated an environment where women come together to celebrate and share unique experiences without an ounce of judgment. We offer a nature-focused, luxury experience that feels accessible—giving women that high-end, restorative feeling without the intimidating price tag.
* What I am most proud of: I am proud that we’ve created a space where “mom-guilt” dissolves the moment you walk through the door. I am proud that women leave our retreats not just feeling pampered, but fundamentally recharged and empowered to set boundaries in their daily lives.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is the realization that self-care is not a luxury—it is a necessity. As mothers, we are the heartbeat of our families, but we often forget that a heartbeat needs rest to keep going. I want every woman who attends a Bombom Experience to walk away knowing that she is worthy of being filled up. Seeing these women reconnect with their own spirits is the most rewarding work I have ever done. It’s about creating a legacy of wellness, not just for ourselves, but for the children who are watching us learn how to love ourselves well.
