Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Noche-Schultz.
Hi Sean, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Sean Noche-Schultz, a self-taught photographer and videographer based in Seattle, Washington with over five years of professional experience in photography and videography. My journey started with a genuine passion for capturing moments and telling compelling stories through visual media, and today I operate two successful media production companies: SFMedia LLC and Do More Media LLC, which I co-own with my business partner Kelly.
What began as a personal passion for photography and videography has evolved into a full-service media production company serving clients throughout the Seattle metropolitan area and beyond. I specialize in a comprehensive range of photography and videography services including wedding photography, brand photography and videography, commercial video production, real estate photography and videography, event photography and videography, food photography, product photography, and high-quality social media content creation. My team also provides comprehensive post-production editing services, color grading, video editing, and strategic social media marketing services for businesses and individuals.
As a self-taught photographer and videographer, I’ve developed deep expertise in creating authentic, high-quality visual content that helps businesses and individuals tell their stories effectively and compellingly. I’m particularly passionate about the final deliverables—there’s nothing more rewarding than presenting clients with polished, professional videos and photographs that bring their vision to life and exceed their expectations.
My learning style is rooted in going deep into the details. I don’t just learn surface-level skills; I dive into understanding why things work the way they do, how systems function, and what makes content resonate. When I’m interested in something, I become relentless about mastering every aspect of it. I read extensively, watch tutorials, experiment constantly, and ask countless questions until I truly understand not just what to do, but why it works. This approach has made me particularly good at photography and videography because I’ve invested the time to understand the technical foundations, the creative principles, the equipment, and the post-production workflow completely.
Beyond my photography and videography work, I’m committed to continuous learning and understanding the deeper aspects of visual storytelling and production. I believe in mastering every detail of the craft—from camera settings and lighting techniques to color theory and editing workflows—to deliver exceptional results that truly stand out. My approach combines technical expertise in videography and photography with creative storytelling and strategic thinking to produce content that genuinely connects with audiences, drives engagement, and achieves business goals.
Through Do More Media LLC and SFMedia LLC, we serve diverse clients across Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, providing professional photography, videography, and digital marketing solutions that help businesses grow, enhance their brand presence, and reach their target audiences. Whether it’s capturing the emotion of a wedding day, showcasing a luxury real estate listing, creating engaging social media content, or producing commercial videos for businesses, I’m dedicated to delivering visual content that makes a real impact.
I also supplement my media production work with Amazon Flex deliveries, which keeps me flexible and allows me to invest profits back into my businesses and continue expanding our capabilities. My goal is to build sustainable, growing businesses that create opportunities not just for myself, but for the talented people I work with, while consistently delivering exceptional visual content that my clients are genuinely excited to share and use.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles I faced early on was undervaluing my work. I was so eager to build my business and get clients that I was charging way too low and not recognizing my own worth. I’d do jobs for cheap thinking it would lead to more business down the line, but most of the time it didn’t pan out that way. It just taught clients and the market that my work wasn’t worth much, which set a bad precedent. I’ve learned the hard way that constantly discounting your services and cutting corners doesn’t build sustainable business—it just trains people to expect low-ball pricing.
Another major challenge has been learning all aspects of the craft on my own. Being self-taught means I had to figure out photography, videography, editing, color grading, lighting, composition, marketing, business operations, and client management all by myself. There’s no manual for that. I had to invest countless hours learning, experimenting, failing, and then trying again.
Managing two businesses simultaneously has also been challenging. Balancing SFMedia LLC and Do More Media LLC, keeping Kelly aligned on strategy, handling day-to-day operations, taking on Amazon Flex work for supplemental income, and actually doing the creative work itself takes serious time management and energy.
I’ve also dealt with technical failures, like equipment issues and hard drive crashes that cost me footage and required me to rebuild client relationships. And honestly, the biggest ongoing struggle is learning when to say no—recognizing that not every opportunity is worth pursuing, especially if it doesn’t align with our value and what we’re trying to build long-term.
But each of these challenges has made me better. I’ve learned to value my time, be more selective with clients, invest in better systems and backup solutions, and think strategically about growth instead of just chasing quick money.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a self-taught photographer and videographer specializing in brand videography, commercial video production, real estate photography and videography, event coverage, food photography, and social media content creation. I operate two media production companies: SFMedia LLC and Do More Media LLC, which I co-own with my business partner Kelly.
What I’m most proud of is the quality and authenticity of the work I deliver. I get genuinely excited about showing clients their final videos and photos because I pour everything into making sure they exceed expectations. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a client’s reaction to polished, professional content that truly captures what they envisioned.
What sets me apart is my obsessive approach to learning and mastery. I don’t just learn surface-level skills—I go deep into understanding the why behind everything. Why does certain lighting work better? How does color grading impact emotion? What makes a story resonate with an audience? I’m relentless about understanding the technical foundations, creative principles, and post-production workflows completely. This means I don’t cut corners or deliver mediocre work, no matter what the budget is.
I’m also well-versed in many different aspects of photography and videography, which has pushed me to become more creative than every other project. Because I’ve successfully worked across real estate, commercial work, brand content, food photography, events, and social media, I have a diverse technical skill base that allows me to solve creative problems in unique ways. My experience across so many different niches means I can pull ideas and techniques from one discipline and apply them to another. This versatility lets me create exactly what clients want because I have the experience and creative toolbox to make it happen.
I also stand out because I value my work and my time appropriately. I’ve learned that constantly undercharging and discounting doesn’t build sustainable business—it just trains clients to expect low prices. I’m selective about which projects I take on and I focus on delivering exceptional quality rather than chasing volume.
Most importantly, I’m known for understanding that photography and videography is about storytelling. Every project is an opportunity to capture emotion, communicate a message, or preserve a moment that matters. I approach every shoot with that mindset, and it shows in the final product.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along this journey is to stay persistent and be resilient. This industry, like most creative fields, isn’t always a straight path to success. There are setbacks, failed projects, equipment failures, clients who don’t pay on time, competition, market changes, and countless moments where you want to quit.
But I’ve learned that the difference between people who make it and people who don’t isn’t talent alone—it’s persistence. It’s showing up even when things are hard. It’s learning from failures instead of letting them stop you. It’s bouncing back from a crashed hard drive and still delivering for your clients. It’s dealing with underpricing your work for years and then finally having the courage to charge what you’re worth.
Resilience has taught me that obstacles are temporary. Technical problems, budget constraints, difficult clients, market shifts—none of these are permanent. What matters is how you respond. Do you give up or do you find another way?
I’ve built two successful businesses because I refused to quit when things got hard. I’ve mastered photography and videography because I kept pushing to understand the deeper why behind everything, even when it would have been easier to just accept surface-level knowledge. I’ve grown as a professional because I’ve stayed persistent through failures, rejections, and setbacks.
Persistence and resilience aren’t just lessons—they’re the foundation of everything I’ve accomplished. Without them, none of this would exist.
