Today we’d like to introduce you to KillemAll Coop.
KillemAll , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a Seattle raised artist who’s lived in LA for 10 years. I take pride in high-concept audio-visual releases. Enhancing the visual experience is just as important as the music nowadays. I honestly believe I’m the best rapper with a 9-5 Job. I have a background in finance and sales. That’s helped me learn over the years how important representation is. Being an artist in most cases is the thankless and unpaid job, so quitting is the easy thing to do. Over the years you fight with that, at least I did. Eventually, I realized, ill never quit. I’d love to tell you my music journey has been an incredible experience but it hasn’t. That’s why finding beauty in art is so important. Once I finally realized, I’d be doing this regardless of circumstance. I made the best project of my life. “Hollywood” so I guess that’s my story. An artist who spent most of his years feeling like he wasn’t good enough until I realized I was. I’m not just a rapper, I’m an artist and being vulnerable is mandatory. I forgot that until I remembered.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an independent artist who spent most of his years feeling like he wasn’t good enough. Comparing streaming numbers to other artists I know I’m better than used to bother me. At some point (over the years) you have to realized with music, it’s the people who choose you, not the other way around.
The hardest part is being an artist who refused to change with the times. Music has changed over the last 15 years. I used to sell CD’s outside of nightclubs, now I have to promote streaming services. I used to shoot 1 video for a song, now you’re expected to have a visual to every song. Growing with the times was hard for me because there was never a guaranteed blueprint.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
High-concept audio-visuals! Being a rapper who’s changed with the times is what I’m most proud of. Its easy to get left behind in this social media age that we live in. I think curating cool videos is something that sets me apart. Over the last year I’ve understood the importance of creating the visual representation yourself. Being able to provide a visual that is direct to listener is what makes me different.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Being consistent is more important than being good. You never know what people will like. I learned years ago also, get out of your head. Most people honestly don’t care about the minor details.
