Check Out Katrina Centeno’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katrina Centeno.

Hi Katrina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was a kid, everyone in my class had the same kind of lettering, like in most schools. My writing was different, which was pretty cool, and I got really lucky with that. Fast forward to 2007, one of my friends got married. She saw my writing and complimented me, encouraging me to do more with it. I ended up buying some pens and starting to make a bunch of samples.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The mental load of being on the road can be pretty tough most of the time. Timing and staying organized with all my clients and schedules is definitely a challenge. But balancing the work and managing different parts of my life is really demanding. Physically, it’s a very hard job and tiring on your hands. I often get asked if I’m in pain, but by then my whole body is sore.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a calligrapher who loves turning words and ideas into something beautiful and personal. My work focuses on creating elegant, thoughtful lettering that feels timeless while still reflecting the personality and story behind each piece. Whether I’m creating custom artwork, event details, signage, or meaningful keepsakes, I love making each project feel unique rather than simply following a template. What I’m most proud of is the ability to take something as simple as words and transform them into art that people can connect with. There’s something special about seeing a handwritten piece become part of someone’s wedding, celebration, home, or a meaningful moment in their life. What sets me apart is the care I put into the details. Calligraphy is more than beautiful lettering to me it’s about patience, intention, and creating something that feels personal.

What are your plans for the future?
We are looking forward to our rewind of social media and celebrating our big 19th anniversary. We are redesigning all of our platforms. As far as designs, you can see them in our website that we’re currently working on at the moment. We are also launching new products, so we can share more with the world.
