Check Out Jayzon Jenkins’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayzon Jenkins.

Hi Jayzon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It started back in 2011 before getting out of high school at Pine Bluff High In Arkansas when my big brother asked me to write a song knowing that I’ve never written a song before a day in my life. I’ve always enjoyed music, listening to it, making beats on the table at school and etc. But I made a lil rap song and showed it to him and he loved it! And it took off from there. So I took it from that to going to learning how to record myself, different states to perform, making my own music videos, and starting my own independent label “Black Flame Muzik LLC.” because I want to help talented unseen artists not have the troubles that I had starting as an artists and grow together.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh no it was never a smooth journey because I took the time to learn the basics of recording, mixing & mastering, getting over stage fright so I can be comfortable to perform, and I’m paying for everything myself out of pocket. Until I get the attention for my music and my label since I’m not signed, it’s alot more work.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So I’m an artist & a owner of a music label. On top of learning everything that I need to as an artists, I have to also be able to help other artists with the same things that I’ve been going through and doing for myself.

What im most proud of is the whole journey so far and not giving up because I’ve wanted to a few times over disappointing situations.

What were you like growing up?
I was a quiet kid growing up. I didn’t really talk much or I had very few people I was more social with. Never like a big crowd for real. I loved listening to Michael Jackson when I was younger.
