Check Out Darius Martin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darius Martin.

Hi Darius, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Texas, raised in New Mexico and Arizona. Before I moved to California in high school where I got an academic scholarship for a college in Ohio. This is where I learned how to make beats in my dorm room before coming back to California to attend the LA film school. Here’s where I started to make the shift from producer and rapper to singer/songwriter. My dad’s side of the family all had interest in music growing up but it never crossed my mind until I made my way to Ohio. But since that first beat I was hooked and never looked back. Now I’ve been on tours, dropped an album, millions and Millions of streams across all platforms as well as cultivate a community of fans and supporters in ways I never imagined. Now I’m working on another project and I couldn’t be more excited about sharing it with the world!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been smooth, I’ve had to fire people along the way I thought had my best interest. Lost friends had family members die while on tour hours before a show and still performed. Honestly there’s so much more but I really choose to focus on the great things that came from every situation I’ve been in. Im grateful for the lessons and blessings God has provided through my journey.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am Darius Martin, an artist through and through. Singer, producer, songwriter, creative director, etc. what I’m most proud of is being a father and second to that is creating music that I needed as a kid. What sets me apart is my love and vulnerability to my craft. As well as my work ethic and attitude towards life!

What’s next?
The things I’m looking forward to most are this new project, my album being on vinyl, and the opportunities for me to perform it. As well as working with other like minded creatives.
