Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Herrera.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From a young age, creativity was second nature to me. Building a career as a working artist gave me the chance to sharpen my skills while exploring new directions in the field. Every job ultimately served as a stepping stone, aligning with my eventual calling in art restoration and conservation.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road is completely smooth, and I believe our struggles make us who we are. For a long time, my biggest struggle was being overly self-critical and constantly comparing my work to others. Over time, I’ve realized that perfectionism is often an inherent part of the creative process (at least for me) and now I use that to truly refine my craft.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a dancer, musician, and visual artist. I’m most known for my profession in art restoration and conservation. Although, my stated avocations are integral to who I am. I take great pride in the preservation of fine art. I’m most proud of the 16th-18th century paintings that I’ve had the opportunity to restore. What truly sets me apart is my complete commitment to my craft: I am an artist in every sense of the word.

Any big plans?
My plans are to continue to preserve works of art. To build and make new connections for future work and community.
