Today we’d like to introduce you to Aalure.
Hi Aalure, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always loved music and tried my best to emulate my favorite singers and learn verses at a young age. I sang in my church choir for a short period before pivoting to gymnastics for the bulk of my formative years. After an injury I stepped away from the sport and began to focus on music. I started posting singing videos online, writing songs and recording demos when I was about 13/14 and I’ve been working at it ever since then.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth. There have been ups and downs and everything in between. From auditions that didn’t quite go right to being a part of projects that fell through. Navigating through vocal changes and experiencing my first(hopefully last) vocal injury. I’ve dealt with a little bit of it all but I’m grateful to the opportunity to keep going.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a singer-songwriter from Long Beach, I’m most known for music. I’m very proud of my most recent single, New Problemz. I’m very inspired by other genres and have a lot of hometown pride so I think the west coast vibe paired with pop/R&B vocals stands out in this era of music.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the food, the ocean breeze and I love how accessible everything is. You can walk everywhere you need to go in Long Beach and just when you think you’ve seen it all, there’s something new to try. What I like the least is seeing childhood landmarks and things that mean a lot to the community being taken down.
