Charlie St. Cyr on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Charlie St. Cyr. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Charlie, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
After 3 years of writing, editing a revising the draft a few times, I’m proud to say I finally completed my first ever screenplay and novel called “Boyfriend Mo?” which the ebook version was released on Amazon and Kobo on June 7th 2025 and the physical copy is set to be released on October 4th 2025.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Charlie St. Cyr, a proud Louisiana Creole from New Orleans, makes his debut as a published author with his romance-comedy Boyfriend Mo?. Known internationally as an actor, model, mentor, celebrity fitness trainer, and pro bodybuilder, St. Cyr now adds “author” to his multifaceted career. His foray into writing stems from a deep desire to tell real, relatable stories that spotlight underrepresented communities and voices.

As the eldest of seven siblings, Charlie spent much of his youth moving across the United States, gaining a unique perspective on diverse cultures and communities. Now splitting his time between the U.S. and the Philippines, he continues to broaden his worldview. It’s an experience that deeply informs his storytelling.

Passionate about history and culture, especially those that reflect his own roots, Charlie weaves authenticity and heart into every narrative. Boyfriend Mo? is just the beginning of his mission to share stories that resonate, uplift, and inspire.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I had to pick one thing in life to be, go to school to study for that profession and only do that profession for the rest of my life. Now that I am older and have experienced a lot, I realized you are only limited to what you allow to limit you. When I was in the US Navy I told myself, this is not my end story so while I was in, I pursued acting, modeling, being a fitness trainer and became a pro bodybuilder. Now that I’m out of the military, I filled that empty spot with pushing my creativity in writing now adding author and screenplay writer to the many things I can do.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I was told, to not be afraid because it will stop you from living. In reality, that actually was the cause of me not living life sooner. Because the idea of fear is what actually makes you not want to do or try anything and because that’s what is taught to us. So we end up living like that. The “i’m too afraid” so you end up not doing or trying it. So now what I tell myself and what I would tell my younger self is, be afraid but do it afraid. Go try that new activity afraid. Go live and explore in a new country afraid. Try that new exotic food afraid. Because you might shock yourself and realize there was nothing to be afraid of in the first place. Then maybe you’ll end up liking or enjoying what you once told yourself to be afraid of.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I do my best to always be the same person in and out of the public eye. What you see is what you get when people are looking and when no one is looking. I try to genuinely always just be me.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was a man of my word. And that my personality and quality of performance speaks for itself.
