An Inspired Chat with Kukana Ana of Los Angeles

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kukana Ana. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Kukana, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first thing, for me, is to have a cup of coffee. After that, I quickly review my schedule, check emails, and spend about 20-25 minutes on social media. After the regular daily routine, I prepare to go to the office.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, everybody,

This is Kukana. I am an aspiring fashion and lifestyle influencer based in Los Angeles. I am a product of a blend of Eastern and Western cultures, having lived in several countries in both regions. I love art, music, and of course, fashion. In my professional life, I have been working in the financial sector. All these may not be of interest to you guys. There is nothing special about me. However, I had a life-changing near-death experience, and that made me change and see life much differently. So my motto became “Carpe Diem,” and I like to live every day to the best of my ability.

Because of this experience, I tried to create a balanced life, not so much driven by one side. And I like to appreciate the moments we have, so my motto became “Carpe Diem,” and I want to live every day to the best of my ability. That’s why I created “FashionbyKukana,” and I like to share fashion, lifestyle, and my love of art and music with my audience. And I hope to provide a safe environment for my followers to voice their opinions. Therefore, I want to take my social media channel further by offering a subscription that is more of a panel discussion, with the audience sharing ideas and engaging in conversation. That’s what I am currently working toward.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Two significant events shaped the way I see the world. The first one was during my parents’ divorce. As I haven’t seen my father much while I was growing up, it wasn’t so much a relationship with people as it was about seeing the financial impact. In this world, you can’t live well without financial freedom. And that’s financial freedom that has to be earned by yourself. Don’t depend on others. So it made me a very independent person. The other event was, as I previously mentioned, my near-death experience accident. Through this, I learned that our bodies are remarkably resilient, and I was lucky. And we are here to live fully, expand all our capabilities, and learn and enjoy the things that come our way.

I don’t know if this answers a question. But these two events made me see the world. To make it and live well in the world, be an independent person, and take care of yourself. Stay healthy and stay true to your core self.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
It definitely was music. Music gave me an escape that let me imagine, and all problems were things we could overcome or eventually handle.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I believe finding true passion and discovering who you truly are takes time. Some are lucky enough to know what they are passionate about. Unfortunately, I am not one of those who knew right away who I wanted to be. So finding oneself is a lifelong journey, and it’s ok to take time. Simply put, my lifetime commitment is not to stop learning and to get better every day.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop procrastinating and do all the things I like to experience and learn. I will focus on living more freely and spend more time with people I care about. I will also spend time putting my affairs in order.
