An Inspired Chat with Jhair Guerrero of Quito – Ecuador

We recently had the chance to connect with Jhair Guerrero and have shared our conversation below.

Jhair, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
I lose track of time when I’m behind the camera, fully immersed in the art of capturing moments. Each photoshoot is more than just work—it’s a journey of creativity and passion, where the final image becomes a reflection of vision, effort, and heart.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello — I’m Jhair Guerrero, a professional photographer based in Quito, Ecuador.

I’m 30 years old photographer specialized in fashion, advertising, portraiture, and creative editorial photography.

• What Makes My Work Unique

• Emotion & storytelling
I believe every image should tell something — about the person, the mood, or a moment in time. My aim is always to go beyond just a “pretty picture” and create something that resonates.
• Creative depth & experimentation
I love exploring new ideas — playing with light, composition, color, and concept. Each photoshoot is a chance to push boundaries and try something fresh.
• Client vision + artistic voice
I approach every project as a collaboration. I bring my artistic voice, but I also listen deeply to what clients and models want to express. The goal is always harmony between vision and authenticity.

• What I’m Working On Now

• Fashion & editorial campaigns
I’m currently creating new collections of fashion editorials—melding high-concept style with locale and narrative.
• Portrait & personal branding
Helping artists, creators, and brands build visual identities that feel true.
• Expanding collaborations
I’m open to working with stylists, designers, creative directors, and brands locally and internationally.

If you ever want to see my portfolio, talk about a project, or collaborate, I’d love to connect.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
Probably my coworkers,
I studied photographic design, which provided me with a solid technical and artistic foundation. Beyond formal studies, I’ve learned extensively through researching the work of renowned artists and creative visionaries worldwide. This continuous exploration has been essential in shaping my perspective, refining my style, and pushing me to innovate within my own photography.

Do you want me to make it sound even more formal and interview-ready, like something that could appear in a magazine feature?

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there were moments when I felt close to giving up—especially in the early stages of my career when resources were limited and opportunities felt scarce. But those challenges taught me resilience and reinforced my passion for photography. Every obstacle became a lesson that shaped the artist and professional I am today.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me reflects a true part of who I am — my passion for photography, creativity, and storytelling. But like everyone, I also have a private side that’s more personal and reflective. What people see publicly is authentic, but it’s just one layer of the whole person, there’s so much more to know about me that is not on the internet nor social media platforms.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
I think my biggest regret would be not fully pursuing my creative vision and leaving ideas unexplored. Every project is a chance to tell a story, and I would regret not taking risks, not challenging myself, and not using my art to inspire others.
