We’re looking forward to introducing you to Domonick Giorgianni. Check out our conversation below.
Domonick, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Get out of bed and head straight to the kitchen for the espresso machine. It’s really just me making sure my coffee kicks in before my inbox does.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Domonick — a filmmaker with a deep love for visual storytelling.
I work as a grip, gaffer, and cinematographer, blending technical precision with a creative eye to help bring bold ideas to life. Whether I’m shaping light on set, rigging for the perfect shot, or designing the visual language of a scene, I’m driven by collaboration with like minded people.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I wouldn’t say it’s a moment, but travel has been one of my greatest teachers. Being on the road — from city streets to remote landscapes — has shaped how I see light, color, culture, and human connection. It’s taught me to adapt, stay curious, and find beauty in the unexpected.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Hey there, younger me —
You’re not going to be exactly where you picture yourself right now, and that might sting a little. But that’s completely okay — this is your first time doing this “being alive” thing. You’re learning as you go, figuring it out step by step. You’re allowed to stumble, to grow, to take unexpected detours. Keep having fun.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
“Once you get your big break, you’ve made it.”
Reality: There’s no such thing as “making it” — it’s a constant climb. Even established pros face dry spells, job insecurity, and the pressure to reinvent.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand that the smallest moments often carry the most meaning.
Most people chase the big break, the big shot, the perfect take — but I’ve learned it’s the in-between stuff that sticks with you. Live your dash!
