Has it been a smooth road?
Life is One Beautiful Struggle. I’m a firm believer in the saying, “you gotta bet big to win big!” Being born and raised back in the Bay, It was a natural occurrence to develop a hustle-your-heart-out mentality. When I decided to move to LA 8 years ago, I knew I was taking the biggest gamble of my life at the time. It’s definitely been one hell of a rollercoaster ride, with many different obstacles along the way. I’ve taken my L’s not as a Loss but as a Learning Lesson. Those necessary L’s ensured the journey for Bigger Wins. Throughout it all, the Ups and the Downs…I try my best to keep the focus on the Bigger picture and carry a wholehearted obligation to character. Can’t get Lost in Los Angeles!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with ALL HAIL – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am the owner of ALL HAIL STUDIO. As a Barber, I’ve built a very special clientele built around social mutual value and professional to client rapport. I specialize in custom-tailored men’s haircuts and have recently been noted for all the crazy hair art I’m doing with hair color. I am also an international men’s grooming educator and recently have launched my own grooming line called STMNT GROOMING GOODS as a co-creator. ALL HAIL I hold very close to my chest because it truly is working vision towards constantly being a Pillar to our community, and also provide an experience that allows it to be “more than just a haircut”. Both my barbers that work under me have been internally vetted in and actually started off as students at the academy. I tell them all the time, I’m not here to build yall as just barbers…I’m here to build yall as Brands. LEGACY, thats the work that makes me proud to have ALL HAIL. We’re here to build legacy for everyone that chooses to come with us on this journey.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Los Angeles is such an amazing city. I have this theory called the “LA PALM TREE EFFECT”. Whenever someone visits and experiences all the cool things LA has to offer from good weather, amazing food, eclectic cultures + subcultures, dope fashion, and postcard-like views, while being in a city surrounded by palm trees, that does something for them. It did that one thing to me. IT MAKES THEM ALL WANT TO MOVE HERE, lol! I truly love the balance between rich LA heritage that all the locals hold close to their heart and the constant flow of new energy from LA transplants finding their way through the city.
For myself, I take it all as a constant source of inspiration. You take all the big fish from their hometown ponds and throw em in the shark tank known as LOS ANGELES. One can truly find out if they are a GREAT WHITE or just a GUPPY all along. Honestly, I can’t really say I don’t like anything to the point where it’s notable to me, because I try to really take things for what it is and adjust accordingly. If it’s something that I don’t like, I’ll just find myself out that door and think nothing of it. The one obvious thing that most of us don’t like is certain…THE TRAFFIC. Haha. Yet, for myself, living and working in DTLA was highly strategic so I wouldn’t have traffic be a defining issue in my daily life.
