Meet Crack Jesus of NFY in Long Island

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crack Jesus.

Crack, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m I got into rap music Christmas of 2005; I was 11 at the time. My sister bought me my first CD player and the Eminem album “Curtain Call”. I thought it was the best thing I ever heard in my life. I was always in love with music but the hip hop sound was a different experience for me. That upcoming summer me and my childhood friend started rapping ourselves. We started recording using voice notes on a Virgin Mobile flip phone my mom bought me. I started listening to Lil Wayne in 8th grade after I heard a few kids arguing over him being better than Eminem, so of course I had to give him a listen. He instantly became my favorite rapper.

At the age of 14 I started taking music more serious. It’s the first time I actually went to a studio and recorded my first song ever. In 2015 I went and got myself an in home studio of my own and instantly went to work. I spent countless hours recording in my room. After I got the hang of making songs, I went on to do my first live performance in Brooklyn the following summer. I then went on to do shows in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Jersey, and even Rhode Island. Even doing shows for people like Hot 97s DJ Drewski, DJ Clue, Ceas from Desert Storm Radio, Manolo Rose, Casanova 2x and a whole lot more. You can actually find my new single “Opp B*tch” on one of the mixtapes Casanova hosted on SoundCloud, as well as DJ/Producer M. Stacks page on Audiomack, and also spinning on Desert Storm Radio and WOVU 95.9 FM. With all the hype to the song me and my videographer EddieInTheMoment dropped a teaser for the music video on my Instagram. My music is also found on all platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora etc.

After appearing at different events and networking with so many people, it led me to do collaborations with local artists I met along the way like Ya Boi Bron and also Lil Big Thot. Teaming up with a local producer Scotty Fignetti who is also my childhood best friend we dropped the EP “BFY” where we bring you a sound like no other. With all these future projects in the vault I can assure you this is not the end of this duo.

Has it been a smooth road?
I definitely had a few obstacles along the way. I became homeless in 2018 after I got into a fight with my landlord after he pushed my mother. It took a couple of years to find a permanent place. The first spot that I rented was actually a squatter house and I had no idea. The entire house was up and running like normal. There were tenants, the landlord had children, the electricity was on and everything was working fine. This was also my first time trying to live on my own. A month later the town came and shut the house down and my landlord robbed my entire apartment with my studio equipment, money, and personal belongings. I couldn’t be upset about it forever and I knew I had to get back on track quick. I had to go back to being in a shelter but that didn’t stop me from doing what I had to do. Eventually I got back on track because I know it’s not going to be easy to make it where I’m going. I have a great support as well so shoutout the gang!

NFY – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
NFY is something I started back in 2014. It actually has two meanings but for now let’s just say it means “Not For You”. It’s a movement, a brand, a clothing line, a Mixtape series and it’s my mood every day. The movement is definitely not for everybody as you can tell by the name. We have a website where you can purchase some NFY merch like T-Shirts and some new items coming soon as well.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I plan on flooding the industry with projects. merchandise, and everything NFY!
