Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Rene’ Taylor Rene’.
Taylor, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started as a dancer at The Age of three years old, and my mom always says that I knew THEN that I wanted to be a Star! I danced all throughout my childhood, and also was an accomplished runner for Track and Field in Highschool. After HS, I joined the Army, and dance was briefly on the back burner, but never far behind! Days after being discharged I tried out for the Seattle Seahawks Seagals Cheerleaders and I made the team, where I stayed for three years before also becoming a Phoenix Suns Dancer and Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader!
That lifestyle was definitely a whirlwind and I was also a single mom, so I had to be really focused and determined to make it all work. I went on to acquire more amazing accolades on dancing back up for many A-List celebrities at The Urban Network Music Summit, as well as working as an actress for the CW Network!
Things really picked up for me when I crossed over into MUSIC, & DRAG! I am one of a handful of biological pioneer woman that transform into Drag Personas, and elevate my appearance to the highest Superstar Heights! I now Sing, Dance, and can deliver a full-blown production with Dancers and set design! I’m currently working on my Sophomore Album, which I am ecstatic about…but my 1st album is called Play. Slay. Repeat. and is streaming everywhere with fun dance hits like Rev Me Up, Play, and Show Me That Slay! My freshman album is doing great so far, and I am so excited to keep going. You can catch me performing at Festivals, Pride events, and I’m currently working on building my own tour! I am the Inaugural 2019 Emerging Artist for Dinah Shore where I performed on the Main Stage for thousands of amazing and beautiful women! I am diverse, energetic, passionate, and love rocking a crowd and that is how I have gotten to where I am today…
Has it been a smooth road?
Is has not been smooth, lol. I have taken many hits that derailed me or left me disappointed, but I always found my way back and managed to keep going! Raising a child is hard at times, but going thru a divorce, hardship, being an entrepreneur, and facing some really hard online bullying and being able to overcome that has made me the strong and independent woman that I am today!
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I sing, rap, dance, act and host as The Talented stage name of Taylor Rene’, but my Real Name is Kiva Holly-Wood and Kiva writes the songs, does graphic design, is a Make-Up artist, and choreographs. It makes me proud to have multiple talents that can serve as trade skills for my brand.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
My goal and dream is to Play Coachella, and San Diego Pride, and I won’t stop until I make that happen for myself! I also want to launch a Lip Gloss Line, sell my signature merch, and franchise my Dance Studio Pro Dance Yard Academy.
