We’re looking forward to introducing you to Marina Lang . Check out our conversation below.
Marina , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is a mix of creativity, discipline, and grounding rituals. I usually start my mornings with spiritual practice — chanting or meditation — which sets the tone for my day. From there, my schedule can shift depending on what I’m working on: some days are filled with writing, producing, or audition prep, while others are about managing collaborations and creative projects. I also carve out time to cook, connect with people I love, and take care of myself physically and mentally. No two days are exactly alike, but I always try to balance ambition with presence.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Marina Lang, and I’m an actress, writer, producer, and music artist who has lived in five countries and speaks five languages. At my core, I’m a creator and storyteller — whether that’s through my music, my original pilot Faking IT, producing meaningful films and content, or my work as an actress. My journey has been unconventional: from starring in Indian television soaps and competing on Top Model India to moving to Los Angeles, where I built a restaurant, created a cooking show with my mom, and produced award-winning films and music videos. What makes my work unique is the way I blend cultures, experiences, and personal transformation into everything I create. Right now, I’m focused on building projects that move people — music that explores identity and resilience, films that tell complex human stories, and acting roles that challenge and inspire me.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom has always been the one to see me clearly before I could see myself. There were times when I doubted my path or couldn’t recognize my own potential, and she was the one who reminded me of who I am. She believed in me fiercely, even in moments I struggled to believe in myself, and always pushed me to rise to my full potential. That kind of love and clarity has shaped so much of who I am today
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience in a way success never could. When everything is going well, it’s easy to feel confident — but it’s in the moments of pain, loss, and struggle that I discovered my true strength. Suffering forced me to look inward, to grow spiritually, and to find meaning even when things didn’t make sense. Success can be validating, but suffering taught me compassion, humility, and the understanding that every challenge carries a lesson that shapes who you become
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I think a lot of smart people today are getting it wrong by being overly focused on results and instant gratification. In chasing achievements and quick wins, they often miss the deeper point — the meaning behind what they’re doing and the relationships that truly sustain us. Success without purpose or connection feels empty, and I believe that’s where many lose sight
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
Showing up as my full, unapologetic self. Too often we shrink, hide, or play safe just to fit in, to be liked, to avoid discomfort. But the truth is, every moment we deny who we are, we lose a piece of ourselves. Living authentically isn’t just about being brave—it’s about honoring your own story, your own truth, even when it scares you. That’s the only way to live without looking back with regret.
