Meet Amy Huynh of Nibbs Club in West Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Huynh.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I and Nibbs Club did not have a glorious start. It was late one night and I had just finished cleaning my pup’s diarrhea and vomit. A few days before, I took him to the veterinarian and they ran a battery of tests. They all came back negative. Through a process of elimination and reintroduction, I realized that night that he was getting really sick from bad food and treats. Like many dog owners, I did not understand how over processed and unhealthy dog food and treats are. Since then, I started experimenting with recipes and learning more about what I can make for my dog and introduce that to other pet lovers. That was the birth of my website https://www.nibbsclub.com/ for Nibbs Club.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a rough journey because I could hardly sustain my bills let alone financially start a business. At the beginning, I could only afford to make the treats in small batches for friends and family to try. I had to work hard and save for the business. When the Covid pandemic hit, it was even more difficult to rally support because everything was closed. It has been very difficult to go against larger business pet food entities. I don’t have the resources and the deep pockets to broadcast my products like the big brands. But I am still determined to bring good quality products to the market and share the knowledge that I have learned to other animal lovers.

Nibbs Club – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am proud to say that at Nibbs Club, we look forward to bringing quality dog and cat treats directly to consumers. We offer very simple, healthy, and preservative-free treats. The treats must be refrigerated to keep fresh. They can be ordered from our website and directly sent to your home.

Folks can visit our products at https://www.nibbsclub.com/collections/frontpage. We have single treat purchases as well as subscriptions you can buy. The monthly subscriptions really help busy pet parents who do not have the time to go to the store to get quality products delivered to their homes. During these quarantine days, it is vital to get quality treats to families without health risks.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success by how much I can contribute to my community. I hope to be able to educate and advocate for healthy pet care to the mass. Additionally, I look forward to the proceeds from our hopeful success to go towards rescues and shelters. It is really important to me and our organization that people adopt rather than shop pets. There are lots of animals out there that need help and support and I would be so lucky to provide service.

Pricing:

  • Our dog meatballs are $19.99 and the monthly subscription charge is $16.99
  • Our other bag of treats for dog and cat retails for $13.99 and the monthly subscription is $11.89
