Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Leomiti.

Hi Joshua, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
How I started and how I got to where I am currently today came from my childhood. I always knew as a child that I was an artist. It is something hard to explain but if DNA is facts, then there was and still is an artist in me today. This may be subjective, but I believe if something is in you but you’ve run from it, or are still running from it, then that is a clear indication for you to know that whatever it is, is for you. Yes, it is always difficult to make something out of nothing, especially in show business, but my advice to anyone that has that “it” in them is, you already have all you need. It is that “it” and that is your ‘something’ to make out of nothing. I am proud of the work that I have done in the past, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I ran for so long and I got tired. Now I run in a different direction, towards what I’ve already had, and I’ll tell you this, I ain’t tired. I want more and when you want more, you never get tired.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has never been a smooth road for me and I have had many struggles along the way. One of the biggest struggles for me was “self-doubt”. This is something that I encourage to be eradicated and thrown away. I think everyone can relate to that in any sphere. But then again, I don’t think confidence should be vanity. I think confidence can only come once you’ve experienced doubt and overcome it because it takes humility to finally realize that you’re great and being great doesn’t need to prove itself. If you have to tell someone that you’re great, then you’re not it. Finally, I don’t know anyone who has gotten to the top without struggles. Hard work involves getting in there and getting your hands dirty. Even if you don’t make it to the top, at least you can aim close to it. I am always aiming toward the top, regardless.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What I do and what I specialize in is: I am an Actor, Writer, Producer, and Filmmaker. As I’ve mentioned before, I knew this as a child and no one, no cartoon, no film, no nothing had to tell me that.

What am I known for and what I am most proud of is: if there is anything that I want people to know and to continually know about me, is that, when they see a performance of mines or hear a poetry/song piece I’ve pinned, see a screenplay I’ve written, or read a simple post I post on Social Media, I would like them to know that I do it with a spirit of excellence. That is what I am most proud of. Any great true artist will agree. We do it not for ourselves but for the world. If you’re an artist and you’re not serving, what are you there for then?

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Where do I see myself in the next 5-10 years would be on streaming services platforms and major studio sets as a leading Samoan actor. That is my aim and I am working very hard to get there. Why not? I am going to die one day so why not make it known today? I don’t really move with the big shifts, changes, or trends. I move with my spirit, my gut, and on top of that, you can never lead by following the crowds. Any true artist knows this simple great truth. Trends and what’s hot today always dies but it is the person, the artist who knows themselves, that will leave a generational story behind. That is much more impactful than any trend.
