Exploring Life & Business with Gabe Rudner of LA Creative Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabe Rudner.

Hi Gabe, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Thanks so much for having me. I formed the boutique real estate firm LA Creative Realty in 2017 with a goal to focus on serving clients in creative industries. As a musician with a passion for investments, I founded LA Creative Realty to be a trusted source of knowledge, relationships and expertise for a community that I felt was vastly underserved in the world of real estate. In my prior career as a musician I toured the world working with all sorts of creators and I saw firsthand the value that the right space can have to a creator. I also saw how many in the real estate and investment industries do not understand the lifestyle, needs, and finances of creatives. I believe that pairing a creator with the right space gives them an inspiring place to live and work, helps them build wealth and income stability over time, and has the added benefit of taking creative output to the next level. At LACR I work with my clients to develop a strategy for all three.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I first started out in real estate I was touring and playing music with artists full time. In fact, it was during my time on the road that I got interested in investments in the first place and read everything I could about real estate and different types of investments. Over time as my real estate business developed it started to become more and more of a full-time commitment. Balancing my music commitments and my real estate business has been a challenge at times and a learning experience but the further I travel on this road the more I am certain that there does not need to be a line between creativity and business, and in fact the two can play beautifully together.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about LA Creative Realty?
My goal with LA Creative Realty is to help all creators achieve their highest level of creative output and financial stability by pairing them with the perfect space and investments for the future. One of the benefits of my firm is that my partners and I bring a lot of experience to the table not only with residential properties but with commercial and industrial properties as well. This flexibility allows us to work with creators of all shapes and sizes. We have helped artists purchase properties with great home studios. We have helped clients purchase, lease and sell large commercial studios and warehouses. We have helped creators invest in their future and maximize their income through multifamily investment properties. Most importantly, it is my personal mission to be sure that every one of our clients is as educated and knowledgeable as possible about the investments they are making and I feel being able to “speak the language” of my creator clientele is one of the key strengths of LA Creative Realty.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was born into a musical family. My father and mother were both professional musicians and I grew up essentially with music in my cereal. I learned work ethic from my father’s diligent daily guitar practice and I learned patience and communication from my mother who worked as a teacher. Music taught me about the pursuit of perfection. It taught me that you have to learn every day if you want to grow. It taught me to bring passion to everything that I do. It taught me patience. It taught me self-confidence. I feel the work ethic that I learned as well as my patient “educator” mindset have helped me communicate and educate my clients in a way that empowers them to take control of their real estate goals.
