Daily Inspiration: Meet Michelle Bongirno

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Bongirno.

Hi Michelle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my photography journey in junior high when I found my love for taking photos. I went to CSULB graduated with my BFA in Photography in 2008. I started my business in 2011. I’ve had my business for almost ten years. It’s been incredible getting to work with so many couples and families.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There are a lot of times that there can be gaps in season for sessions every year but it always picks right back up. When I was first starting out, it was very much a struggle to get my name out but as I grew my business over the years, I would get return clients and amazing referrals.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a wedding and lifestyle photographer. I am proud of where my photography journey has taken me and excited for where it will take me next. I’ve shot hundreds of weddings, met thousands of families, I have been a part of so many different important events, and even had my photo in a Disney movie. Some things that can set me apart from other people in this industry is my willingness to help other photographers or even clients that do not end up hiring find a photographer that might be available. I’m always trying to surround myself with a community of vendors that truly believe in community over competition.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I’ve learned that every mistake is a lesson that has helped me grow for my next client or anyone else who needs help with what I struggled with I can help them avoid it. There are small things I’ve learned the hard way but in the end, I know that everything happens for a reason.
