Kenny Ravage shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Kenny, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Currently I am really proud of our band Rosaries & Requiems. We released a single in May 2025 and now we are prepping to release an album in Feb 2026.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kenny Ravage, and I’ve been a professional musician for the past fourteen years. Over that time, I’ve performed with numerous bands across California and toured throughout the United States, connecting with audiences and meeting some incredible people along the way. I’m currently the guitarist for Rosaries & Requiems, and we’re excited to be releasing new singles this Halloween (October 31) and Día de los Muertos (November 2).
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
A friend of mine, Steve Vai, once shared some powerful wisdom with me during a conversation at his home. What he said really helped me gain perspective on some challenges I was facing at the time, and it’s something that’s stayed with me ever since.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
My experience as a musician has taught me that the journey is rarely linear, and the people you start with aren’t always the ones who stay with you. Circumstances change, relationships evolve, and sometimes life simply takes people in different directions. I’ve learned the importance of perseverance, continuing to pursue your path with integrity and focus, even if that means moving forward on your own.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
Thanks to Lemmy Kilmister, I live by the idea that you’ve got to make your own mistakes. You don’t learn by playing it safe. You learn by taking the hit, getting back up, and doing it better the next time. That’s how you build something real.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m doing what I truly believe I was meant to do. Music has always been my greatest passion — creating it, playing it, living it. Performing on stage gives me a rush unlike anything else; it’s the purest form of adrenaline and joy I’ve ever known.
