We recently had the chance to connect with Ani Carol Karayan & Jasmin Mnasi and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Ani Carol & Jasmin, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What we’re most proud of building that most people don’t see is the foundation that keeps Kara Content running every day. It’s the structure, organization, and teamwork behind the creativity. Over the years we’ve built systems that allow our team to stay aligned, our clients to feel supported, and our ideas to come to life seamlessly.
People often see the visuals, the campaigns, and the end results, but what they don’t see is the level of coordination, planning, and communication that goes into making it all work. We’ve created something that looks effortless from the outside because of the intention and structure built behind the scenes, and that’s what we’re truly proud of.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We’re Ani and Jasmin, co-founders of Kara Content, a Los Angeles based social media and creative agency. We started with a simple goal to help brands show up online in a way that feels authentic and elevated. What began as two women managing social media accounts and creating content out of pure passion has grown into a full-service agency working with clients across all industries.
At Kara Content, we specialize in social media management, but our work expands far beyond that. We bring together visuals, storytelling, web design, and creative collaborations to help brands express who they are in a genuine and impactful way. Every project is built on connection, understanding each client’s story and translating it into content that feels true to their identity and message.
What makes Kara Content stand out is our shared passion for creativity and community. We’ve built a brand that’s not only about producing elevated content but also about empowering others to grow, collaborate, and find confidence in their online presence. For us, success is seeing both our clients and our team thrive together.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
For both of us, our families and closest friends saw our potential long before we fully recognized it ourselves. They were the ones who encouraged us to take the leap, reminded us of our strengths when we doubted them, and celebrated every milestone no matter how small.
But most importantly, we saw it in each other. From the very beginning, we both believed in what the other could build, even during moments of uncertainty. That mutual trust became the foundation of Kara Content. Having someone beside you who sees your strengths clearly, challenges you to grow, and pushes you forward has shaped not only the business but also who we’ve become as entrepreneurs.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
We both reached a point where we realized that trying to appear like we always had it together was holding us back. The challenges we faced as women running a business, the long nights, the setbacks, and the self-doubt all became part of our story. Instead of hiding those moments, we started using them to our advantage, learning from each experience and letting it shape how we lead and create.
That shift changed everything. Once we began viewing our experiences as a source of power, it gave us strength and perspective. Our struggles became the very thing that helped us connect with others, lead with empathy, and build a company rooted in understanding and growth.
That honesty also shows in our social media presence. What you see is who we are, we don’t try to act differently or present a version of ourselves that isn’t real. We believe that showing our human side is what allows people to truly connect with us, and that emotional connection is what matters most in everything we do.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in our industry is that everything has to look perfect to be successful. Social media isn’t meant to be flawless, it’s meant to connect, inspire, and tell a story. The pressure to always look perfect can take away from creativity and make people forget what’s real. Behind every post and every brand are years of work, trial and error, and growth. What you see online is often the highlight reel, not the process it took to get there. The most impactful content comes from being genuine, not polished.
We also think there’s a misconception that trends don’t work for everyone. We believe trends can make sense for every brand when used with intention. It’s about adapting them in a way that fits your audience and your message. When creativity, strategy, and personality come together, that’s when a brand really connects and grows.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
We understand deeply that at the end of the day, we’re all human. Every person who comes to us has a dream and a vision, and they’re trusting us to build that with them. That trust means everything to us. No matter how much success you reach or how fast you grow, kindness, understanding, and humility will always matter most. The way you treat people, how you communicate, and how you make others feel leaves a lasting impact far beyond the work itself.
At Kara Content, we hold that close in everything we do. Every project, client, and collaboration starts with respect, empathy, and care. People might forget what you created for them, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel, and that’s what truly lasts.
