Today we’d like to introduce you to Venezuela Williams.
Venezuela, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a little girl from a small town Greenwood, LA (close to Shreveport, LA); I knew that I would coach, teach, and lead people to their authentic God-given talents. I am the oldest of five children and as my mother was a single parent (and worked hard to take care of us) I was at home with my siblings ensuring we all were aligned to the expectations she set for us.
We worked hard to make her proud. I have always been a natural leader with open and honest conversations with others. My approachable personality and ability to connect with anyone is what keeps me connected and dialed into helping others. My gift is listening intently and seeking the in-depth steps for my clients next move. I am known for creating spaces for authentic conversations that drive others to nurture their own narrative. When I was a little girl; I knew my purpose was to help lead others to their God-given talents.
I graduated from 2 (two) HBCUs (Historically Black College University) –Wiley College (BBA – Organizational Management with concentration in Human Resources) and AAS in Science from Southern University. I am a wife, mother, sister, trusted friend to many as well as a 2X Author. One of which made me a best-selling author!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t always easy but my faith and connection to God got me through any obstacle that got in my way. You see, any situation that I’m faced with; I seek His word. Others often seek my guidance for coaching, mentoring, and much more. I tell them that my struggles were often the same. I wasn’t always seen as good enough or too strong-minded. Sometimes even; you should use a different voice. In those moments is when I have to remind others that; my voice, talents, the way I move and everything else about me is what God created me to be. We all are unique in our own way. No is the same and that’s what makes us diverse and capable of many things. There were times when I didn’t get a position or area that I desired but God knew what was best for me at that time. It wasn’t in His plans for me and I was okay with that. But I will tell you; He will blow your mind with what His plans are. They are always beyond what you wanted for yourself. He will always direct your path. In the words of my late grandfather: “If you do what’s right and treat folks right, the good Lord will bless you!”
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love connecting with other women and encouraging each other. I’ve been called the authentic approachable leader/friend. Over the past decade, I’ve been a highly skilled and accomplished Human Resources and Business Management professional with significant experience that has grown many leaders across many states. I’ve mastered in two different sectors: Gaming/Hospitality and Retail/Operations. (a small bit of medical under my first degree) I love what I do and love seeing others grow because of my authentic conversations with them. As an empowering team builder with outstanding training, development, and engagement skills my career journey has led me to creating Venezuela’s Vault. I’ve been assisting others with nurturing their own narrative from within by being authentic, frank and empowering. “Bring your troubles to the VAULT and leave with the key to your own vault of successful tools.” Check out my website: venezuelawilliams.com and follow me on social media: IG: venezuela_vault.
My most proud moment was being nominated for top 40 under 40 young professionals of Northwest Louisiana (my hometown area prior to moving to Texas) and to see where and what I have accomplished since then has been nothing short of amazing and I give all glory to God for being the head of my life and anointing me to help others build the life they desire.
Listen, my life purpose is to help others get what they want out of life. I can help you get there but you must be willing to listen, learn, and lean into becoming a better person. I’ve done it for many people (family, friends, co-workers, mentees, etc.) People often come back to me and say “Mrs. V you told me this or that.” It was just like you said. I just smile inside and say, thank you God for giving me insight to assist. Let’s work together! “Bring your troubles to the VAULT and leave with the key to your own vault.”
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My authentic truthful candor with others. I don’t like to sugarcoat things. It only makes things worst when you lie to people. Be honest but not hurtful. God wants all of us to WIN but we can’t win without sharing what people can do better. You see, no matter what conversations I’ve had with others. It always comes back to me that I helped and served them to better. That’s what life is all about. We must be better stewards to people. Help them stretch, learn and grow so that they build legacy for their families. You may ask, how? Well, making a human connection with others in the most authentic way to bring out the best in others and in turn it strengthens you. God gave me a gift and my mission is to share, collaborate, mentor, and empower other little girls, young and mature to find what that is.
