Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Busch.
Hi Steve, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been shooting photos for a few years now. I started taking photography more seriously while traveling. I was seeing amazing, beautiful places and wanted to capture it better. Travel photos turned into urban exploration which lead to portraits and lifestyles.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think anyone has had a very smooth road, especially not over the last few years. Before the pandemic, I was a full-time nomad. Not only having to come home but be in one place for such a long time took some adjusting.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a photographer. I don’t have much of a specialty, I shoot many different types, from portraits to product and branding to lifestyle and adventure. Over the last two years, I’ve began shooting film, which has been a fun new adventure and quite the challenge. This year I started shooting medium format as well. Continuing to challenge myself and always be learning and improving is what I am most proud of.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
It’s hard to say, a lot of people are very upset about AI and feel nervous about how it’s going to change the industry. I think one place where they still might be okay is in portrait and brand photography. It’s going to be very difficult, at least in the near future, for computers to take a portrait of a person.
