Rising Stars: Meet Sessaleena Hier of Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sessaleena Hier

Sessaleena, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in a very creative household—with a mom who always encouraged doing crafts and thinking outside the box and a father who was an investor in housing. I graduated from La Sierra University with my Bachelor’s in Art and Design (emphasizing in ceramics). Still, I wanted to continue down the creative route and decided to further pursue Interior Design at UCLA, which allowed doors to open and I began to work with a few amazing interior designers.

Ultimately one thing led to another and I started to build my name within the community for my sense of design and slowly began to build Hier Design.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think it’s about perspective. I have a passion and true love for design, so everything I did, I knew would one day take me to where I envisioned myself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an interior designer, I’m able to facilitate the overall image and comfort of people’s living environments. I specialize in residential, but have also worked in the commercial world. I am so blessed because I have the best clients who trust me and my taste in timeless and sophisticated design. Hier Design focuses our attention on the amount of time spent on all details that goes into a space. This includes designing custom furniture, upholstery, artwork, and everything else that goes into making a space truly feel custom. Every little thing must flow like a symphony and harmonize together, most importantly telling a story.

I am so proud of every project because you can see the amount of labor and love that went into the design of the space.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I love meeting and collaborating with new people and vendors! The best way to contact me would be through phone or email, we’re very quick and getting back!
