Rising Stars: Meet Rosanna Diane of Los Angeles, ca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosanna Diane.

Hi Rosanna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I kind of fell into the makeup scene, unexpectedly. I’d always been artistic and naturally good at styling hair and doing makeup for myself and my loved ones. It wasn’t until i was on red carpets for an internship that i was working that i realized just how much fun the behind the scenes were. I’d stand there waiting to interview the celebrities while watching them get their last looks and touch ups and think to myself “I’d love to be there. I’d love to create these looks for them. I know i can do that and be great at it!” So i signed up for makeup school with the intent to learn the ins and outs of that part of the industry!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think it’s ever a smooth road when chasing your dreams. Especially in the art world, where you can be your own worst critic a lot of the time. But i can honestly say I’ve been blessed with some incredible experiences along the way. And the ones that weren’t as glamorous and exciting, taught me the most important lessons on adapting, thinking on your feet, and PATIENCE!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a makeup artist specializing in beauty, editorial, and from time to time, some FX. There is a lot that I’m proud of, but most of all, I’m proud of my relationships with my clients. Nothing makes me happier than knowing i am trusted and chosen for some of their most important days! Seeing them leave my chair feeling happy and beautiful is what it’s all about. I’ve experienced a lot. From working with celebrities on sets, to weddings, to simple date nights. While working on a set is my happiest place, there is something so special about my more intimate moments with clients. There have been so many laughs, tears, therapy sessions and even completely silent sessions during my one on ones. It truly means the world to me to be able to create a comforting environment and give these girls a small portion of time to just focus on themselves and sit with or share whatever is on their mind.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The diversity of our city is what makes my job the most fun! I meet so many people from so many different walks of life. Living and working in LA can be tough- Traffic, cost of living, etc. But, being in such a big city with so much diversity really helps build character. I’ve learned so much from this city and my clients.
