Today we’d like to introduce you to Niya Simon

Hi Niya, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
June 12,2001 is where it all started!
At the age of 5 years old I knew I was That girl ,as in that girl who’s gonna do everything she puts her mind too. From cooking my own food to dressing myself up to singing and dancing on the table as the sun would peek through the blinds giving me a natural spotlight I knew I was destined for greatness.
Growing up I would often sing songs with my grandmother and uncle which also sparked an internal flame that could never blow out! As I got older I developed a passion for Rap music the way a certain beat could make you feel like you can just freestyle often just came to mind. After a while of just free-styling in the mirror and around friends December 25,2016 I recorded my first freestyle video on instagram and went viral ! After a while I continued to perfect my passion and “ITS NIY” started buzzing.Overtime I’ve met some really talented ,amazing , and gifted people who not only encourage me to be my best self but also influence me to put my best work forward !Without learning from experience I wouldn’t be who I am today!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When you are deeply passionate about something you will be willing to take on any ups and downs that come with it .
Having a loyal TEAM behind you will take you a long way .Though it may look or seem better to Take pride in doing everything on your own having a TEAM that has the same ending goal which is to succeed I feel is very important. From having a team then going indie due to certain circumstances I’ve learned to learn the game to play the game then make up all the rules.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
JACK OF ALL TRADES!
But my ability and determination to strive to be a better version of myself
Even after the grind pays off I’ll never stop grinding. Making music makes me feel good and seeing that I can make other feel good through my music how could I ever stop.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned that doing music is more than just fame and riches.Music is a lyrically visual art that can heal and paint
Images that a person cannot express on their own . Music is a therapeutic coping mechanism that helps people get through with their everyday lives.
