Rising Stars: Meet Nicole DeAnda of Santa Clarita

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole DeAnda.

Hi Nicole, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, dance brought my husband and I to the LA area after high school. We didn’t meet until we were both teaching at a local dance studio in SCV. We instantly hit it off and that’s where our journey began. We got married, had 2 amazing children and taught dance together for the next 14 years. In 2024 we had the opportunity to make our dream come true, owning a dance studio together. We purchased the dance studio from our long time friend and re-branded it to be our own, Empire Dance Center.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There are always obstacles to overcome, especially owning a small business. Finding our groove has been the hardest part. Making sure we are getting everything done for the business while also trying to parent our boys. I do have to say that we are lucky to do what we love, with each other!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Empire Dance Center we are more than just a dance studio, we are a family. As a family owned and operated small business, we pour our hearts into everything we do. We know every dancer by name, support them on their journey and love them endlessly. We specialize in all styles and welcome dancers at all levels. Our teachers teach more than just steps, but confidence, discipline and value. Empire is a safe, nurturing environment where all of our families feel seen, supported and encouraged!
