Rising Stars: Meet Natasha Robinson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Robinson.

Hi Natasha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have a Beauty Agency (Beyond All Beauty) that was featured in VoyageLA a couple of years ago that I had to put on pause due to Covid. My oldest daughter bakes cookies and wanted to start selling them. While discussing the cookie business with a friend she suggested I add Alcohol-Infused Popcorn to the menu. I did my research, came up with a few recipes, created a focus group, and received 5 stars reviews from everyone.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a fun learning experience because I’m new to the food and retail industry. I enjoy learning me things. I have met so many small business owners that has help me along the way. My biggest struggle is dealing with the pandemic. We sell at markets and pop-ups and it was affecting our sales because many people wasn’t coming out of their homes before June 15th when Los Angeles opened back up.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We’re California’s first Alcohol-Infused Popcorn company. Our innovative treats are becoming popular with events and parties. People love to be different and stand out and our treats provide that plus, our treats are delicious. We also sell other treats like Corn Puffs, Popcorn Brownies, and Sugar cookies. All of our treats are not Alcohol Infused. We have treats and flavors for the whole family to enjoy. I’m most proud of my daughters who are young and learning how to become entrepreneurs. They handled all the Non- Alcohol Infused treats and catered to our young customers.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Starting a business is a risk alone. Not knowing what the outcome will be and how the people will respond to what we have to offer. On top of that, starting a business in the midst of the pandemic was very risking. We started off small and only had five flavors to offer because I didn’t want to spend all my money I had saved not knowing when the pandemic would be over. I’m a risk-taking but I’m also logical.
