Rising Stars: Meet MinYoung Jeong of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to MinYoung Jeong.

Hi MinYoung, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
안녕! An-Nyeong! This is your Korean girl Cali! You can call me Cali like California!!! and I’m from South Korea. I’m living in the beautiful state of California along with iconic city in LA now since 2018.
I used to fashion stylist for K-pop idols, models, and variety brands in Korea, and now mainly I’m an experienced Brand Ambassador, influencer with a passion for the event staffing industry like 8 years since I moved out in LA.

Before coming to LA, I debated between New York and LA, but New York seems to be busy city like Seoul in Korea, I thought it would be better to spend my time in LA to enjoy the sun-kissed and the beach, I would love to work hard, play hard! So, I chose LA first for the weather and the vibes, and whenever I think of LA, Hollywood fantasies always come to mind. I’m here for making my own unique Cali story as Korean girl Cali and MinYoung Jeong. Stay tuned!!!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I usually meet a wide range of people from all sorts of occasions where I’v been working at, and when I work with them, they are actors, models, singers and more variety artists, and these talented artists got common thought like that no matter the situation, hard work is natural. It’s about accepting that, being patient, showing it when the opportunity came to you, and making the current process getting more valuable results. Enjoying this difficult journey isn’t easy, but it feels like a challenge where patience is key. I learned from all of them. be patience, be persistent, and be prepared for what you want to have!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I worked as a fashion stylist in Korea before becoming a model, and now I’m taking on new challenges to pursue a career as a Hollywood actress. I am truly glad that this experience has allowed me to discover creative possibilities. I will continue to challenge myself and move forward, but now I am striving to deepen my artistic interest in Korean traditional culture! Especially these days, I am learning traditional Korean painting, known as ‘Min-Hwa’ (folk painting). I also serve as the U.S. representative for the Korean brand ‘DAM.O’ (@dam.o_korea) Lately, I’ve seen that many people around the world are interested in Korean culture, such as K-drama, K-food, and K-beauty, and always I’m meeting who got passionate about K-style, which has made me increasingly proud of things I once took for granted as a Korean while living in the U.S. So, I’m trying to show it off some part of Korean elements stuffs through me and also, I’m teaching Korean for fun beside! So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Whenever I attend an event or work, there’s someone who asked me to do collaborate together, it’s a real blessing to meet people who share a supportive culture of teamwork and mutual support! But sometimes, it is 50/50 between someone who is sincere and someone who is a fraud, I had scammy collaboration before like who pretend got sweet candy to share that treat with me, but at the end, it turned nothing left or was not really my thing to have it. so, easy to find so many collaborators from so many opportunities but you should be aware of scammy one!
and luckily I got legit friends around me more than scammers, so I got good support from my friends, and they introduce genuine people!! and always welcome to do collaboration with variety artists, who want to find good synergy with Cali! let’s find our potential to show to the world!
