Today we’d like to introduce you to Marta Muñoz Bachiller.
Hi Marta, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey as a tattoo artist began in Seville, where I turned my passion for art into a profession and took the leap of opening my own studio.
Since then, tattooing has become a form of self-expression and a way to discover the world. My journey has taken me to different European cities, including Vienna, Munich, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Milan, Florence… where I’ve connected with different cultures, people, and perspectives on art.
Today, my journey continues in Canada, where I keep exploring, growing, and bringing my work to new places. Every city, every experience, and every person who trusts me with their skin becomes part of a story that is constantly evolving.
For me, it’s about more than tattooing. It’s about creating, connecting, and leaving a piece of myself in every design.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wouldn’t say my journey has been particularly difficult in terms of getting started. I actually began my career as a community manager for a tattoo studio, so becoming a tattoo artist felt more like a natural decision than a big challenge. I was surrounded by artists whose work I admired, and I had the opportunity to learn from them and grow in that environment.
I think the biggest challenge has been finding my own style. Developing an artistic identity takes time, experimentation, and a lot of self-discovery. For me, it’s been about learning to trust my own vision, understanding what I want to express through my work, and creating something that truly feels like me.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work focuses on illustration and micro tattoos in colour, with a special love for creating cute, playful designs inspired by the magic and expressiveness of Pixar-style characters.
I love bringing little ideas to life through delicate details, vibrant colours, and soft, charming aesthetics. My tattoos often have a sweet, almost animated feel to them, combining illustration with a touch of personality that makes each piece feel unique and full of life.
What I’m most proud of is being able to create a style that feels true to me and brings joy to the people who wear my work. I want my tattoos to feel like tiny pieces of art that tell a story, capture a memory, or simply make someone smile.
I think what sets me apart is this combination of colour, cuteness, and attention to detail, along with my desire to make every design feel personal. For me, tattooing is not just about creating something beautiful on the skin, but about turning meaningful ideas into little characters and illustrations that people can carry with them forever
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think the tattoo industry will continue to evolve into an even more diverse and creative space, where tattooing is increasingly recognised as a form of art and personal expression. I see a growing appreciation for unique styles, especially illustration-based tattoos, colour, and more delicate, personalised designs. I believe artists will continue to push boundaries and find new ways to tell stories through their work.
On a personal level, one of my biggest goals for the future is to work in New York. It’s a city that has always represented creativity, diversity, and artistic freedom to me, and I would love to be part of its tattoo scene, meet inspiring artists, and connect with people from all over the world.
Having worked in different cities and countries, I’ve realised how much travelling and discovering new creative environments can influence my work. I want to keep growing as an artist, exploring new opportunities, and taking my style to places I’ve always dreamed of. For me, the future is about staying curious, evolving creatively, and continuing to build a career without limits or borders
