Rising Stars: Meet Lyndale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndale. Him and his team share his story with us below.

Please give us some background on Lyndale’s story.
Lyndale was born in Kansas City. His father was a big time drug dealer who had a total of five kids by different woman. When Lyndale was young, his father was murdered by his own brother. This caused him to not trust people once he got older and knew what happened. To avoid him knowing the truth in his younger years, he moved around a lot. His mother and grandmothers kept him in private school out of district. As Lyndale got older, he’ll bounce around between his two grandmothers’ homes and his mom and stepdad home. One of his grandmothers was well off financially, and the other, Grandma Glen, was poor. It wasn’t until Lyndale got into public school (his decision to change because he was more popular in the neighborhood his Grandma Glen stayed in) that he understood what poor means. This environment also introduced him into gangs & street life. Because the job he had wasn’t pulling in the money he needed, he turned to the streets.

Throughout his adolescence, Lyndale found himself around the wrong crowd. Him and his stepbrother had a fallout due to them being in opposing gangs and one of his bestfriends passed away. Police targeted him and his friends and at one point, the entire city was against him because of the people he was affiliated with. Fast forward to 20 years old, Lyndale has a girlfriend and two kids. He’s working at a plant raking in money to fund his rap career. He released a song called “Gotchu” which basically propelled him forward in Kansas City. The song spoke on a war within the neighborhoods. Not too long after that, Lyndale drops “For The Record” & gets booked for a show which ended in a shootout. Lyndale was blackballed. After taking some time off he releases another song called “Close The Casket” which puts him back in the limelight. From there, he’s rapping on and off for years. After two failed management attempts, Lyndale meets Demetrius, owner of Cash Junke Entertainment, who said they can do it.  They can really focus on his career. He’s then flown out to Northern California and haven’t been back to Kansas City since. He’s now pursuing his career full-time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was not smooth at all. He lost his father & his best friend, fell out with his stepbrother over gang-related altercations, and was blackballed from pursuing rap in his hometown.

What else should we know and share with readers?

What’s next?
Lyndale plans are to grow within the music industry & bring back hope, love, & peace to his hometown.
