Rising Stars: Meet Louis David Najar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Louis David Najar.

Hi Louis David, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started embroidering around 2015, but have mean manufacturing custom leather items since 2008.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life is a rollercoaster; we all know that by now.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Utopia is established as a custom chain stitch embroidery service. We get commissioned to embroider unique designs with a hand-guided vintage machine from the early 1900s.

We have worked hard to be recognized as a place where direct Business to Consumer meets high quality, and in a world of mass production, it’s become more and more obvious that we are in the luxury section of the clothing “industry” – we don’t mass produce, and we care a lot about durability and functionality.

When people commission a piece, it always gives additional meaning to the garment that gets transformed.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Good question, I would say that my creativity and personal influences (motorcycles, hip hop, house music, fixed gear, bike polo) have definitely played a big part into what I present in terms of esthetic output for my projects.
