Rising Stars: Meet Laura Siré of Other

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Siré.

Hi Laura, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been drawing freckles on my face since I was 18, and they’ve always been something I loved. When I was 27, I decided to get my own freckles tattooed by an amazing freckles tattoo artist (guiltyfreckles), and that’s when I discovered that freckles tattooing was actually a profession. I never imagined that something I had been doing for years could eventually become my career.

At 31, I decided to turn that passion into a little business of my own. At the time, I was working as a receptionist at a hair salon, but I took a leap of faith, left my job and decided to pursue something completely different.

I’ve been working as a freckles tattoo artist in Barcelona for less than a year, and I’m still learning, growing and building my own path. What makes this journey so special is that it all started with something I personally loved, and now I get to help other people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. I’m proud I took the risk, and I’m excited to see where this new chapter takes me!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting a business from scratch comes with a lot of challenges, especially when you’re still trying to build your client base and get people to discover your work.

Being self-employed also means dealing with financial uncertainty, learning how to manage a business and making decisions on your own. Another challenge has been finding the right balance between setting prices that reflect the value of my work and attracting new clients in a competitive industry.

Sometimes it can be difficult not to compare yourself to other artists or to question whether you’re doing things right, especially when you’re still at the beginning. But I’m learning to trust my work, be patient with myself and understand that building something of your own takes time. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I’m proud of myself for taking the risk and continuing to move forward.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a freckles tattoo artist based in Barcelona, specializing in creating natural-looking freckles that enhance each person’s features. I design every set by hand and adapt the placement, size and distribution of the freckles to suit each client’s face and the look they want to achieve.

What I love most about my work is that every face is different. My goal is to create freckles that look natural and feel like they’ve always been there, rather than looking too perfect or artificial.

I’m especially proud of turning something I’ve loved since I was 18 into my own business. I spent years drawing freckles on my face before discovering freckles tattooing, so being able to turn that personal passion into my profession means a lot to me.

I think what sets me apart is that personal connection, combined with my attention to detail. For me, it’s not about giving everyone the same result, but about creating something unique for each person that enhances their natural beauty.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favourite childhood memories are the ones I shared with my family, especially my grandmother. My family has always been a very important part of my life, but my grandma has a particularly special place in my heart. When I look back on my childhood, the moments spent with them are the ones I treasure the most.
