Rising Stars: Meet Katrina Harrison of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katrina Harrison

Hi Katrina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in Southern California, having spent my childhood in Los Angeles as well as some years in Northern California. Creativity has always been a huge part of my life. For as long as I could remember, I was always using creative outlets in order to express myself. Whether it was dance, singing, acting, or art – I was always creating something. Growing up in the digital age with platforms like Youtube being fairly new, I found myself being interested in videography and early content creation from a young age.
I soon discovered the ability to express my interests through videos and other forms social media. By the time I was in high school, I was uploading music videos of me singing various covers. College is where I began to take the beauty influencer route.
When I was 19, I was fascinated with beauty influencers and YouTubers. I thought it was so fun to be able to film yourself putting on makeup or getting ready for your day. Since then, I have been producing beauty videos on Youtube and then TikTok and Instagram, where I am currently active on today.
I absolutely adore expressing my love for beauty and healthy lifestyle by making informative as well as fun videos for my audience that I have built up over the years on Instagram. Content creation is truly a wonderful and impactful tool of social media and I absolutely love every second of it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not! And it still isn’t, unfortunately! I would love to be one of those influencers who thinks their job is so easy, but I am truthfully not. However, I still love every second of it. There are still moments of extreme discouragement, comparison to others, and the not-to-glamorous aspects of social media.
One of my best pieces of advice for content creation is to not do it for the money, do it because you truly want to inspire others with your craft and creativity. With that mindset, I believe every human is unstoppable.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am currently a full-time content creator on Instagram and TikTok who focuses primarily on beauty and lifestyle! I create videos almost every single day sharing different aspects of my life and my beauty routines. I specialize in curating and producing paid advertisements and user generate content (UGC) for beauty and lifestyle brands’ social media accounts as well as for my own. I am also a model and an actress, and am currently working on a few projects!
One thing that I am most proud of is ignoring the discouragement and still going and following along this path of creativity. Younger me would have never thought that I would be able to do this but I am so proud that I have.
One thing that I believe sets me apart from others is my ability to make the most of any situation in regards to my work, good or bad. Now, I’m not saying that nobody else is like this, but this is something that I have noticed is very well-known about me.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Everything! In all seriousness, I absolutely love the opportunity that LA brings for entrepreneurs, artists, and creators like me. I truly think that this is the best city for this crazy but wonderful industry and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
One thing I like the least? The traffic, honestly. As simple as that.
