Rising Stars: Meet Jeff (Jay) Harper (Harp) of Downtown LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff (Jay) Harper (Harp).

Hi Jeff (Jay) , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m just a guy from Ohio who got kidnapped by a friend to help him drive to Los Angeles for his business, since then I knew I wanted to live here. I grew up in a religious household, but life taught me something different. Since then I’ve been walking my own path through spirituality that I convey through music. I’m a jack of all trades with music, whether making beats, playing instruments, rapping, singing, or writing. I plan to expound on each to the fullest in the near future.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, this is where it gets biblical. I know I’m called to do music but every time I get the ball moving is when I get attacked. I’ve had to cut off a lot of day 1 friends/partners to make sure this time the pursuit won’t get sabotaged.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
So this one is funny, but when people see my face or recognize my story they’ll probably say I’m their favorite uber driver 🤣. I’m a talkative easy going person, I can get along with almost anybody. But I’ve had a lot of great experiences, therapy sessions, sharing of dreams and business ideas while driving with uber.

What matters most to you? Why?
Honoring God, and pursuing my hearts desires. Because when I close my eyes for the last time I want to be able to say “God I did what I needed to do”
